Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site and new to the mobile tanning business. This message may be a little long but bear with me. I think I have somewhat of a handle on the business side of things such as marketing, where to get my customers, the financial side etc. What I’m having trouble getting my arms around is which solutions and equipment to use. Based on all the threads that I have read out there, I’m not the only one. There is an overwhelming amount of info out there and tons of opinions. While I like everyone’s opinion, I think I can speak for some of the other newbies out there that it’s hard to get clear cut answers. So with that being said I am hoping to run my own survey to get an overall consensus (albeit very unscientific). It would be nice if there were a consumer reports out there on these things that are unbiased but I don’t think there is and I am hoping this is the next best thing. Since we all get off track and interject other things in the answers I am hoping that everyone can answer in correspondence to the numbers below. This is for MOBILE use only
1. Airbrush or HVLP?
2. Best Equipment? ( I know there is a lot out there that are similar but for the sake of this experiment – results based on ease of use and ease of maintenance)
3. Was it purchased in pieces or as a set?
4. What was the cost for the equipment as a whole **
5. Best solution ( I know this one can be subjective with a lot of variables but for the sake of this experiment- results based on client satisfaction of color and longevity of color)***
6. Prep spray used, moisturize used after the solution - both or none (all the spray tans I have gotten, I have been sprayed with a clear solution first, than the solution , than a moisturizer )
** I know that money affects some if not all of people’s choices and I know a higher price does not necessarily equal the best. With this being said and money not part of the decision process, I just want to know the cost ranges out there and then compare that to a consensus.
*** I realize that products will come and go and new ones will enter the market. I also realize that there are samples out there and you really should do some trial and errors, however there has to be some favorites out there that have proven to be reliable and consistent and that is the info I am looking for.
Again, hoping to keep the comments out of this and make this purely a survey. I did see a survey out there on what everyone’s order of what they look for in a product but I am looking more for the actual product. I think I will give this a good week out there and then I will calculate the answers and post them. This may help all of us out there that have overload going on LOL. I really appreciate the input especially from those out there that have been doing this a while. Again, sorry this is so long winded. :)
