The next day after showering this women had orange freckles. She has blonde hair, blue eyes.....turns red initially when exposed to the sun, but tans fairly nice. Am I using too high of DHA %. How many applications is generally suitable. I put 2ozs in my cup and I usually do two applications. Is that too much solution ?

Also, should I be using a ph spray. I have some clients that have real dry skin. I have order Revelation Exfoliating spray. I heard this was good as an exfoliator and moisturizer .

Any suggestions would be great!

I would recommend only spraying one coat. What percent DHA did you use? I use a 6% on clients with fair skin.
As for the ph optimizer I recommend it because not only does it help to even out the skin's ph but it is a great upsale.
The exfoliating spray is crucial for me. When client's do not properly exfoliate before their appointments a lot of problems may arise. And again the exfoliating spray is a great upsale.
* both the optimizer and exfoliator can be added into your overall price and takes alot of unknowns out of the equation for a possible mishap

I used a 9% DHA.......I wouldn't consider this client a fair skin though. She had an okay base tan. Do you wipe off the ph optimizer before applying the spray tan ? What ph optimizer would you recommend? and If you don't mind me asking.....how much of an upsale do you charge for this service?

I always use pH Optimzer, and it's especially a must on dryer skins, or at least it is for me. All my clients love it, and it's a little "treat" for their skin. In fact, I have some clients that want to be sprayed with it in-Between tans as they love how their skin feels afterwards! I DO NOT wipe it off. The key is to mist it on lightly, it drys very fast. I actually use a misting bottle (bought it at Walmart), and I "refresh" their skin with it prior to tanning them!

Sounds like an exfoliating problem, I would remind your client how much better her tan will look and last by exfoliating.

If only her freckles were orange I would try dropping down to a light coat or try 8%. My equipment allows to me just switch to low on demand to spray a light coat. I've never really experienced any orange results.

9% is what i use in my booth. It's great for fair skinned people.

I think the 2 applications you are doing is too much. You may be applying too much on the client.
