Rep Power: 0 | Maxi Mist HELP! I just got my maxi mist, I am not a salon owner but am only buying it for personal use. I had cancer and figured I would see if I could have my husband spray me becasue I cant tan, UV wise. There is only one place in my town that does spray tans and I am never happy with the result compared to others where I lived before. Plus it is almost impossible to get an appoint. We tried it last night and I was worred because it took over 4 oz of solution and it was his first time. I was expecting some issues, (ie, uneveness, splothy, etc)but when I got up this morning, I really had no tan at all. What did I do wrong? It felt like TOO much solution was going on me at the time but when I woke up it was almost non-existant. I dont know what I did? Any advice? |

Re: Maxi Mist HELP! Have you successfully had a spray tan before..I.E. did it turn out then? Are you on any medication that may possibly effect a tan outcome? Did you shake the bottle before use? Did you not get any initial colour from the initial colour guide?? What/how old is the solution you used? Apologies for the questions but needed to help with some answers

However, I own a maxi mist and you really only need to turn the flow screw 1/4 to 1/2 a turn -NOT the 1-2 turns the instructions tell you. Practice adjusting the knob and spraying a piece of newspaper or cardboard to see the difference between settings. |

Yes, I have had numerous, numerous spray tans before and they turned out great Are you on any medication that may possibly effect a tan outcome? No medication, nothing unusual Did you shake the bottle before use? I shook it a little, not a lot. Just turned it upside down a couple of times Did you not get any initial colour from the initial colour guide?? Sorry, I dont understand this, I actually just sprayed myself What/how old is the solution you used? The solution is one of the samples that came with it, I figured I would use them first. They were suppose to send 4 and only sent two, they said they would send the other two. The one I used was the tan extrodinaire (spelling?) I didnt shower for 11 hours after the spray. I had showered the morning of and did it at 8pm last night. Showered 11 hours later Like I said, I have had numerous very succesful spray tans before, one about a month ago and I did not do anything different for prep/how long I wated to shower, etc. I just dont know what I am doing wrong, I dont know if it was the solution , but when it was sprayed on, it "looked" like it was going on....Sorry for the questions. Again, thank you for the comments.... |

if you've successfully tanned before and used Tan Extraordinaire then its a bit confusing why you haven't developed or noticed an initial colour guide(washes off during your first shower after the application of the tan allowing the DHA time to develop underneath). Have you tried the sample on someone else...and was it successful??? Did you have any moisturizer still on the skin when you did yourself??

My skin was very wet, after I was sprayed. it took longer to dry than my previous experience with other tanning solutions . I did not have moisturizer on. I will see if my husband will let me try the solution on him, and see if he gets a different result... THANKS FOR YOUR HELP! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Maxi Mist HELP! Thank you for those who responded. Later I noticed a very little color, but then when I looked back at the bottle, the samples that TBT had sent was th 8% DHA. I searched to figure out my skin type and I am a 3/4. Could it have been that I just need a higher DHA? I had my husband spray me again with the same solution , and spray almost twice. This morning I noticed a color, just not as dark as what I was used to when I had it done. I am going to order some 10% and a very small bottle of 12% to see what works for me.... Thanks again for the help! |

2) If the 8 isnt dark enough the certainly try the 10 or even the 12%
