Question Using powder after spray tan

So ive been reading alot of post about using power after spray tanning a client (especially heavier clients, or in areas that are more sweaty) and I wanted to know what everyone is using to APPLY the powder?
Is there a powder gun? or dry powder spray? Has anyone created a type of DIY powder gun?
What about using a brush or really large powder puff? Do you buy disposible ones or sanitize them after use?
I like the idea of using a large comestic brush or hair salon duster, but the cross contamination from client to client would be disgusting!
I also love the idea of adding some shimmer to the powder for a nice glow! Does anyone do that and if so what type? Do you just add it to the powder?

Please let me know your awesome after spray tanning tips!
I would appreciate it! :)

Re: Using powder after spray tan

jcruz I have one client that has trouble drying. She does put on a shimmer powder and says it works fine for her. Most of our clients are dry once I put them in the standup for 5 mins.

Re: Using powder after spray tan

I have tanning beds, but alot of the people I spray are not wanting to tan after. Also, mine are lay down so that would prob just ruin the tan with sweating. But that is a good idea eileen!

Yes and now for those that don't want to tan I've added a red light therapy standup to my line up. :)

the powder app after spraying was the rage last season. I tried this on myself for about 2 months last season and never felt comforatble enough with results to actually use on clients.

moderation is key if you are planning to use in your services lineup. i would only apply to armpits, arm, knee, cleavage creeses using a the brush that barbers use to swish off hair.

Re: Using powder after spray tan

You can get a little duster from the dollar store to use and you can easily wash/sanitize after each use. I find that the barbers brush or cosmetic brushes are too heavy/thick and can rub the tan. The duster from the dollar store is perfect & lightweight. I bought 5and I wash it after each client and let dry just like cosmetic brushes and use the next one.

I use a old iwata spray machine and pen sprayer and attach it to this kiddie cup filled with Baby powder. My clients love this innovation and it is very sanitary

Hmmm, my clients are completely dry when I am done spraying them. There is no dry time at all and they are not sticky. Possibly too much solution is being applied to your clients?

Re: Using powder after spray tan

I find it takes a good hour for your body to feel completely dry after a spray tan . Even tho they feel dry it is also good to apply powder around the feet so there shoes don't leave a mark as well as waist and bra area's too. Plus they like that I spray some powder under there arms until they can apply there deodorant.
