Great post I could not agree with you more. I was hoping more than one of manufacturers of Organic D.H.A solution would chime in here and tell us what qualifies their products as Organic and what Organic manufacturing credentials they have.

I was also hoping they would shed some light on why Organic solutions now? After years of preaching its safe, its all natural it comes from cane sugar and its F.D.A approved?

Well technically DHA has been utilized for almost 100years being used topically on human skin with unknown reported adverse side effects.... minus ORANGE TANS LOL.....and of course skin rashes etc etc etc.....

I believe a majority of most salon owners and techs (like you and me) are more concerned with documented and clinical results with regard to inhalation and absorption via mucous membranes...

since spraying dha onto the skin is relatively new (less than 15 years) there will be less documentation and studies with regard to this.

The ef'd up part of this is if DHA was being use internally (ie pill form) the FDA would be all over this like flies to horse shite! but theres this grey line the sunless and beauty industry has taken advantage of.... 'dha spray tanning is TOPICAL ONLY" so therefore it opens up the floodgates to sunless tanning distributing entrepreneurs with little or no experience and formal education in science, chemistry, QA and formulation. And then we get these garage distys selling their juice.... and god only knows wtf is REALLY in this stuff!

Re: Best Organic Solutions

I have used Brownberry solution ..water, aloe, DHA. sticky ofcourse, but clients liked it. It has to have perservatives in it to last anytime at all. I didnt read all the posts above..it might of been mentioned, but You have to see what kind of perservatives it has.. not full of chemicals. Organic its just a huge marketing gimmick. Check out the Arbonne Made in shade..not 'organic' but all botanical ( vegan..non toxic etc)

Re: Best Organic Solutions

Here in the U.S. most folks realize that the term "organic" is mostly a sales pitch... what they really want is the best tan in town, no orange, no weird fading, last the better part of a week, and be non-drying. If a truely organic product were available i believe shelf life, cost and performance issues would outweigh any beniefets.

I didn't even know that some of these products existed. Everyone complains about the "orange" stage of tanning. Thanks for the info.

Re: Best Organic Solutions

It appears a lot of people in this thread are banned but here is an update for you!

Ecocert has not certified DHA as organic (according to the “Ecocert Natural and Organic Cosmetic Standard”) from any manufacturer and has seen no evidence that organic DHA exists.

Eco Cert here have just issued letters to tanning companies for false and misleading claims of ECO CERT organic DHA- you would have noticed one particular self proclaimed "leading manufacturer" - was just made by ECO cert to amend HIS false statements in letters he put out, and all the products - How can people TRUST a company after they are happy to KNOWINGLY make these claims and let salon owner repeat them.
