New Mobile Company Needs Advertising Ideas

Hi everyone,
I am starting a mobile tanning business in Woodstock Ga. We have a very large population, and are also close to all of the outlying suburbs of downtown Atlanta. There are lots of tanning salons, but no-one that is mobile to my knowledge.
I am very excited and need some advise on advertising and getting new clients in general. How did you all get your business going? What advertising avenues did you use, and how much do you allot for advertising expenses?
Any general advise will be much appreciated.

Do you have a web site? If so, advertising on Google Adwords and yahoo has helped me. So to vista printing and get cards etc. good price they also have a good web site program. If you need a discount code thing for vista print pm me and I will e-mail it to you.

Thanks, I have alreay ordered business cards, and I am having a website created as we speak. Should be ready next week. I also have some print advertising scheduled starting in July.
Do you take credit card payments? I was wondering how to go about taking them....

No - at this time cash and checks are working out fine. Because we go into peoples homes usually it isn't a big deal for them to write a check instead of using a debit/cc. I know some people on this site do not accept checks but I have found that after you have been in someones home and seen them naked they usually do not write you a bad check! I have done some print ads (newspapers) and online has worked out better for me. If you do online set it up yourself and there are 50 off coupons out there for google and yahoo. Its a pain inthe foot but worth the trouble compared to what other ad co charge you to do it. beware of yellowbook. they will try to sell you alot of stuff and everyperson that calls you gives you a different price!
