Rep Power: 0  |  BIG Thanks out to all you spamalots when i started 2 years ago I was trained by a NYS Licensed Beautician/esthtician sp and who was certified in airbrush tanning...I received this awesome training FOR FREE! YES FREE! she was trained i believe by Natural Bronze (sp)years ago when airbrush tanning first began on the east coast (2001-2002).... they actually trained her and her spa for FREE as well! Im currently looking to get further training in intermediate/custom training (body sculpting) and have thought long and hard for the past 2 months ... ive decided NOT to pay 600.00 for a training class.... sorry... you could be selling me bouillons of gold and silver with that training and il still wont pay 600.00 Im am happy for many of you who found it beneficial and life changing to get training at that cost, unfortunately I would rather put the 600.00 towards getting A REAL CERTIFICATE OR LICENSE! since this industry is very under regulated and is 'up and coming' ive made a very INTELLIGENT DECISION! I will put the 600.00 towards tuition @ a New York approved school that teaches Esthetics. Because frankly everyone here is allllll about getting training and certs in an unregulated sector of the beauty industry... and let me tell ya somn peeps... its not gonna be like that for much longer! I would hate and would hate to see all of you invest in all your $$$$$$ in TRAINING, equipment, solutions, and sundries.... to have the state you live in .... pass a law that would completely put you out of business..... certs from private vendors are great yeah... but sorry not worth $600.00 you could put towards a long term investment ... a Professional State License and your YOUR BUSINESS>!! I will also at the same time be getting trained to perfect body contouring technique etc etc... and have already been quoted at less than 200.00... I love this board and forum and am thankful to most of the all stars who always step in to help and give advice for FREE! Just because you have a passion for what you do :) ... Most of you take off your sales caps before entering this board and just relax and give honest helpful free advice... and then there are others .... the ones who come here disguised as professional peers...but come here to post their agendas... their agendas are disguised in the beginning with friendly general advice that posters could receive on most sites (and even here if you do an advanced search)... and then POW... these poor newbies get hit with the ol..... "PM me for more information" ... OR "I would love to assit you further but my paying clients would kill me if they knew I was on here posting information they paid"... give them that little piece of a carrot and then dangle it in front of innocent posters.....and sadly many people fall for the whole bait an switch....THIS IS DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR! Ive seen moderators get attached by vendors and other posters because they haven't sprayed as many clients as others...GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE WE ARE NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL !!! WE ARE ALL PROFESSIONALS AND/OR ENTREPRENEURS! A website who's title is "TANTALK.COM - TANNING SALON BUSINESS OWNERS COMMUNITY" This site is where professionals and entrprenuers congregate to get assistance from other professionals... when did it become the front lobby of a salon where youre the business person trying to upsell to clients?!! I must apologize in advance for my tirades tonight on a couple of the posts ... Honestly, I'm just so disgusted by certain posters who come on here and soil the boards with their sales spheils and agendas to generate money for their businesses, which they attempt to do skillfully and in stealthful ways. So unprofessional and so greedy ..... Going forward on this forum my modo will Benevolence Professionalism and Sharing. ... at no COST..... SHAME ON ANY OF YOU who cant do the same! I could just fire my current staff and hire estheticians and pay them more? Or possibly pay for my current tech's schooling and put them on contract (fully enforceable in Texas) if I really liked them that much. You don't have to drop your business if a law did pass, but you would have to step your game up ladies and gentleman. I guess thats when the real players step up.

That being said... You still have yet to answer the questions I had for you nor have you gone onto this board and provided to other newbies or posters the information I asked that you provide.
