yp it does tend to use a bit more with an airbrush ...were using around 35ml with a HVLP and around 50ml+ with the airbrush

Re: Best spray tanning machine??

I did alot of research in regards to best spray tanning systems and I ended up going with the NORVELL NT-2000.

I absoulutely LOVE it! The cost is around $1500, but that does include the lotion + extras.

I personally recommend the NT-2000 by NORVELL.....but I have also read the the CALIFORNIA TAN is a good product.

I can tell you, that the NT-2000 is basically a "fool-proof" sprayer. I had no experience spray tanning and I spray tanned my hubby (as the guinea pig) and it turned out great.

If you have any questions about it, I will try my best to answer them.

Good Luck to you because I know how difficult it is to find a product that actually works and does great....but I definately think you would like the NT-2000.

I was getting airbrush tanned for the last five years and I've had good and bad experiences with it. I recently tried out HVLP and it was okay (minus the fact that the product used on me I felt was too dark for me leaving me kinda orange)
I've looked on the website Envytan.com/Tampabaytans.com (they sell HVLP machines) they are expensive but they say that they are much better then airbrush equipment which can cause a lot of back spray and that means loss of product...I definitely don't want that! They also say that drying time is less then with airbrush , however I felt that it was the same for both but perhaps that was because the person who sprayed me didn't have proper control on the air/spray pressure/volume. Then I came on here and there was talk of a LVLP machine that is low volume/low pressure and its specifically met for spray tanning . I'm so confused now, I want to invest money into my business but would like to buy a quality machine that I know will work. I'm sorry so many questions but getting a legitimate answer out of anyone in my area doing spray tanning is like pulling teeth, not to mention they aren't very good at application.

TIA! :)
I started out using a dual action airbrush , which worked great. Then last month I upgraded to the Iwata G6. It has the speed of an HVLP without the noise, it is so easy to handle and the application is flawless. I LOVE my Iwata G6 Airbrush !! I bought the Sunmist Professional Mobile System for $750.00, which included everything and I mean everything I needed to start my business. I have never used anything but Sunmist, as I haven't had a reason to switch (I got lucky). Elise & Amanda are the two Sunmist customer service reps I have used, but I'm sure anyone there would be just as helpful. www.sunmisttanning.com

Re: Best spray tanning machine??

sunmist = overpriced air compressors and dinosaur technology. You can buy a gun as nice as a G6 for under $75.00 and a silent air compressor if you so choose almost anywhere BUT a spray tan supplier for around $250.00.

Nice website though.....

Oh snap.

I'm going to wait to purchase any equipment until I go to this seminar Kelly from Sonoma tanning offers. She does training in airbrush and HVLP, I wanna try both and see which I like better and what feels most comfortable and then go from there. Thanks for the advice though!!!

:)

My business has been awesome using my as you state "dinosaur" Sunmist equipment. Nothing "dinosaur" about it. If you purchase the Sunmist Mobile system, their prices are fantastic, and the Sunmist marketing material (and the awesome customer service reps) helped launch a very successful business for me. I made over $5000.00 last month, and am already close to that for this month. My girlfriend quit her job, purchased her own Sunmist Mobile System, and is almost as busy as I am, and she just started last month!!! Tis the Season, and my equipment works beautifully. You can NOT buy the Iwata G6 for $75.00 anywhere - I challenge you to show me where. Why would you even say such ugly comments? What's the point? I thought this site was to share your successes, and ask questions if you were unsure of anything. Not to be unfriendly. Regardless, say what you want, all I know is the facts and the fact is Sunmist is great, their solutions are the best I've used & seen, the reputation I have gained by simple word of mouth has been astronomical. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made.

Sweetie, you want to challenge me? So if I prove to you on this board with links that you can buy your entire setup that will apply the EXACT same way your compressed air out of date system does do I win something?

Ugly comments? Just the FACTS lady, the just facts.

And this is why we live in the greatest country on the planet, free to speak our mind, free to make our own................choices. Some good....some, well...............try google.

I'm using this ROXTAN Diamond Edition model at the moment - cheap - but awesome for the price. I paid $600 for an identical unit 5 years ago. Nice to see prices have dropped. Paid I think it was $150 for it.

Tans are beautiful - their solution is really nice too.

I bought the Pink one though...
