Are exfoliating sprays necessary?

How necessary are exfoliating sprays prior to spray tanning ? I would think that when you spray that on, there still could be some areas that are exfoliated better than others which ultimately could still leave patchy areas as the tan fades. I'd like to know everyone's experience with exfoliating sprays?

Also, I have a maxi mist and sometimes solution gets trapped in the spray tube when I change the cups for different tanning solutions . If there is any exfoliation spray residue in the gun or tube that gets sprayed along with DHA solution how does this affect the tan?

All feedback is welcome!

Thanks!

After you remove the cup, pull the trigger, will let the solution out of the tube in to the cup, may have to jiggle a bit..

Kind of like a straw, insert in water, hold thumb over end of straw, remove and its full of water.

Remove thumb...................empty straw............empty tube.

I use the biddiscombe revelation pre-tan spray and I notice a difference when I dont use it. Plus it helps it last longer and balance out the ph.

Yes we use an exfoliating spritz and find tan fades much more evenly. We use to only use it if the client forgot but now we just spray everyone. Results are worth it.

Re: Are exfoliating sprays necessary?

Pre Tan Preps DO NOT DO ANYTHING CONCERNING THE SKINS PH AND DEVELOPED COLOR RESULTS OR FADING !!!!!.

DHA takes 24 hrs to fully develop, a prep spray can "adjust" the PH, yes. But within only a few minutes the skin starts to revert back to its original level. In order for a product to "keep" the skins PH at a certain level FOR 24 HRS it would be a DRUG. Only then could PH balanced skin have any benefit to DHA that maintains chemical activity for 24 hrs.

A prep spray does one thing, removes oils and such from the client that would inhibit the solution from absorbing...........what you want is CLEAN skin. We use a prep spray we call CYA, and we don't buy it from anyone.............

All the other products on the market are pure marketing hype AND HAVE ZERO FACTUAL TEST RESULTS BEHIND THEM.

Save your money folks...........

That is SOOOO not true! That being said not everyone need the pre tan pre spray. If they have exfolated well and correctly they most likely don't need it. If they haven't then it would be a good idea. I have several owners who for some reason they can't keep thier tan well. All of thier clients can keep it for 7-10 days but they are only 3. I sent them samples of the pre spray and they are lasting 7-10 days. That sure sounds like proof to me. We also have quite a few salon who automaticly do the pre spray on all of thier clients. They do this to give an extra level of customer service to thier customers. They know it isn't need for everyone but choose to anyway just to be sure the results are wonderful. About 25% of my customers use it.
