Rep Power: 0 | Will DHA tan people that don't normally tan from the sun? Hi there... I have a friend who says that she can NOT tan.... I'm assuming she burns and then it just peels off. So, that being said would DHA and spray tanning help her to achieve a tan? or would it just wash away with the bronzer? i googled this and found nothing.... thoughts? |

Depending on the solution and method of application after exfoliation and proper preparation, the skin will appear up to a shade to a shade and a half darker. Some solutions dye the skin only one color and others work with the skin type to blend a darker color into the skin. Most solutions have a color guide that washes off, but the underlying color is there after 5 to 6 hours.

I understand how the DHA works, but i guess I wasn't sure if it would or wouldn't work for someone whose skin won't tan with UV rays. So if i understand correctly, someone who may not tan from UV rays will still be able to achieve some color with DHA. Correct? |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Will DHA tan people that don't normally tan from the sun? yes, because they are two totally different animals. A spray/DHA tan is like putting on makeup. Anyone can do it. A "real" UV tan is a natural process that occurs in the body as a result of having melanin and exposure to UV light. If their body does not do that process (e.g. an albino) then it won't matter if they go indoors or outdoors, it won't work. Of course - as with any cosmetic tan - your friend will "look" tan, but will have no more protection from the UV rays (sun) than they normally have and should take their normal precautions. |
