Rep Power: 0 | Need Advice: Airbrush Equipment & Teeth Whitening A whole lot of story to get to the question. If you don't want the background, the question is at the bottom! Thanks My bf has been in the tanning business for 15+ years. He and his family have 5 or so salons. He recently purchased a full-service salon, hair, tan, nails, massage, blah blah blah. Had a Mystic machine but it broke and didn't sell so well here, in addition to that they have it at the other salons. So we don't loose customers we just refer them to one of our other salons. I just graduated from college and since the business world sucks right now I can't find a job. I have been thinking about getting into the airbrush business. We have a lot of older customers who do not want to tan in the beds because of the obvious reasons but would be interested in airbrush . I guess my expensive piece of paper (degree) was worth something because I took one class in marketing my last semester and learned a little something about surveys. So I came up with a survey and I have asked most of my customers to fill it out. Most have said they would love it if we offered airbrush and whitening. So I am really considering airbrushing and teeth whitening. In addition to my expensive piece of paper I have 4 years experience in the dental field. I know my s**t when it comes to teeth. I have looked at the Heartland magazine and the Whiter Image equipment but they say that this is for the customer to do on themself. PLUS the kits are way too expensive. People aren't going to want to pay that much! And I am not so sure the whitening gel is that great. I actually purchased a kit off of ebay for less than 10 dollars to use on my tobacco stained bf but I haven't tried it out yet. It comes with a small L.E.D. light that you place in the mouth. I thought that for 10 bucks a pop if it actually works it would be awesome but I would prefer to have a large light instead of a small handheld. Here are my questions, sorry it took me so long to get to it. 1) Which airbrush equipment and solution are the best for the money? 2) Or, should I build my own airbrush machine? 3) What teeth whitening product has the best results? *I want to use a light and have the customer sit in a chair. Not for use in the tanning bed. I have a lot of ethnic customers and nail customers that do not tan but would use a teeth whitening service.* Thank you, thank you, thank you, for any and all advice you can throw my way. If you would prefer to email me you can at nataliewilliams1@gmail.com. Thanks again! |

Wouldn't you consider posting the question on here and waiting for some answers research? I want to know what people in the tanning business are using and what is working. I know what people say and do are two different things, but I am in a very wealthy area and I know these women want to be tan all the time and most don't want to lay in the t bed to get it. Thanks anyway. |

The pre-filled trays are convenient but expensive and my customers wanted results so I went with the H2O2 applicator and the LED light. The lights on ebay are so low powered that they are like toys they won't whiten at all. The company I use ,XpresSmile, has an LED light and H2O2 as well as a totally self administered kit for use in the tanning bed. We sell the tanning bed kit as maintenance and charge $179 for 40 min under the light. It's working out well for us. |
