Re: Best Solution for a evenly fading tan??

Usually it is a prep or after care issue. Be sure to exfoliate well with a product designed for spray tanning . Use a prep spray. Some people just need that extra boost. It really can make a huge difference. By sure to use a tan extender with just a touch of dha in it. Keep you skin well moisturized. That should really help.
Another question is the tan coming off in chunks? if this could be because you were oversprayed.
Were you sprayed with an airbrush or a hvlp/lvlp? That can make a huge difference.

Re: Best Solution for a evenly fading tan??

What Jenn said BUT also ....I've used many different solutions and there are some on the market that are horrible. They will all wear off differently and like Jenn said, Your skin has a lot to do with it but I've seen some nightmarish results when wearing off but I wont say what solution that was....just in case someone here uses it. :)

Re: Best Solution for a evenly fading tan??

or dont exfoliate so much? i know besthands is an esthetician as well (as am i)....dont you agree that you can strip your skin and cause your pH to be off balance causing an uneven application and fade?? always use a normalize prep spray in my opinion....and NO moisturizers 24 hr before session.

Re: Best Solution for a evenly fading tan??

Glow makes a good point... too much exfoliation with too harsh of a scrub actually causes the skin to have more surface area which leads to drier skin which can lead to poor fading of the tan.
I use and recommend St. Tropez body polish, its the best! Not too harsh but totally effective! All of my body treatments at the spa use this scrub. Its hard to over scrub with this product.
Loofahs are great but they should be used more often but less vigorously.
I warn my spray tan clients from using any oil based salt and sugar scrubs as most are simply to rough... and they often leave a micro layer of oily residue! Again leading to uneven penetration of the tan solution .They may be fine for the non spray tanners but not for the spray tan patrons.
Also i think Glow is right on the mark with PH balancers... if the skin is too alkaline bacteria love it and multiply to change the PH of the skin and also cause the dryness leading to uneven fading again.
One other point worth mentioning is different soultions have different slough off rates, i have found that in general the more stuff in the solution ...mainly volitiles used to aid in evaporating a pretty smell often are drying, as well as some of the alcohols and for me personally the erthylose really dries me out. I know its suppose to help , but for me its the opposite!
Hope your not having the weather we are having here -24* this morning!!!
