Overspray question

I have 1 room in the salon where the spraying is possible
however their is no way I can let it get on the walls, pedicure chair
wax machine, fish tank.

I did buy 1 overspray fan with filter
I'm trying to imagine... - I saw someone make a curtain panel
and put a large floor mirror behind in - would spray client with curtain closed. In this configuration with a fan how much overspray is going to get around the curtain on to the wall if the fabric covers at least 3 feet across and 6.5 feet tall ? Does overspray go ALL OVER the room ?
I am using HVLP Norvell.

How about if I use the tent in the room ( I don't want to do this)
does overspray come out of the tent a lot ?

Thanks in advance for your answers

I PMed you a drawing of an booth some of my clients used. Cheesy hand drawing so don't laugh My computer with the actual pictures died and won't give them up. You will get the basic concept from it.

Re: Overspray question

I have a tent and do not have a fan. The overspray residual is obvious on the floor and I wipe down my tables/doors/trim etc every three or four days with cleanser. lots of residue on those rags. dont assume for a minute that a tent or curtains alone will contain the overspray. I also have to power wash my tent outside as well. imo, spray tanning needs a specific room just for that purpose.

Re: Overspray question

I have a shelf that used to be white in the room...it is now brown. I used to use just two overspray fans...the overspray was everywhere. I have the same booth eileen has now and i love it...i cant tell how much overspray still gets out since the shelf is now brown and i painted my walls tan (they were a light green) but i am sure it is less.

Re: Overspray question

I just washed our white curtains for the second time since last October. A lot of our room is white (which I like). As soon as I see it starting to show up on the shelf behind the filtratration system we clean the filters. Right now we rinse them about once a week.

eyecandy I'll email you about a great idea for taking your display off location to. :)

Re: Overspray question

Hi Eileen, what do you mean by filtration system? Don't you use infinity system?
Do you spray tan in a designated room, how big is it, do you use fans w/filters?
Thanks

Re: Overspray question

I have a dedicated room for spray tanning ... i built a great exhaust system with over 5oo Cubic feet of exhaust ability. it exhausts to the attic then out of the building. I sometimes still get a tiny bit of residue on the shelving and floor. I simply wipe down the floor and shelves in the evening and all is well! It is never bad.. just a tiny bit of overspray at times!!! I think anytime you are sprayning... this is kinda normal. Hope this helps:)

Re: Overspray question

I have no fan in my spray room - there's an exhaust looking thingy (none of the other rooms have it) but I have zero idea if it's functioning. Do I need a fan/exhaust? I plan on getting the cheap plastic from Lowes and putting it on all the walls and floor. That's what the previous owners did. There's still some residue - mostly on the floor - but since that's all the room has been used for, it's not like I'm looking to do anything else with it. They also seem to have a triangle looking wood thing that I'm assuming they used as a platform.

Don't worry - I have someone actually coming into train us next week. I'm not going to just spray around like a madwoman :)
