Cool mobile tanners- how do you take credit cards??

Just wondering how mobile spray tanners take credit cards? I'm getting my business license now and trying to figure things out.

Re: mobile tanners- how do you take credit cards??

My husband had a wireless credit card machine for his business. Before he had that, he would take their info and come back to the store and enter by hand. Way way more expensive if you enter by hand instead of running card, of course the credit card companies don't tell you that. Just google wireless credit card machines.

I have a dial pay processor through my bank. I just call an 800 number and enter the info and it goes immediately in my bank account within 24 hours. Discover and Amex take an extra day or so.I simply give them a reciept and only put the last 4 digits of the cc on it and have them sign it.

Re: mobile tanners- how do you take credit cards??

Thanks! So I googled dial pay procesor and a lot of options came up. Some are $10.00 a month with 3% + .20 cents per transaction. Which is okay, I could do that. But I am wondering if banks offer this for free? Or is this a pretty good deal? Sonoma- which dial pay processor do you use if you don't mind me asking?

mine is through my bank - not an online merchant... I pay 8 dollars a month and my fees are around 2 percent. I suggest you call your bank first and ask what kind of solutions they have - best to go through them, as my money goes right into my account without any hassle.

that sounds great! Hopefully wachovia offers that. If not what bank do you bank with. I'll just open a new account in the business name wherever.

I go with a local bank here in northern california, but all banks should have numerous options for merchant processing.
