Blotchy

So I have tanned a few clients some have returned 2 have not. I tan myself and I fade spotty on my chest neck and inner arms. I do not know how to prevent this. I have tried everything. I am currently using TBT Tan Extraordinaire...I just bought the maximist which am so excited about, and will test out more solutions that come with it. So frustrating...I cant walk out looking like this its bad advertisement. And all my clients complain about stickiness. I have done light coats and thick coats and its always sticky I mean even an hour after application. I have not yet used clear because at the time I had an airbrush and its just too difficult to use clear with that kind. Can clear be less sticky? AAAGGGHHH!!! So many questions...sorry guys, any help would be so greatly appreciated...Thanks!!!

Re: Blotchy

I too would suggest to try different solutions. Clear is just too difficult for most techs.

Re: Blotchy

I've found that "blotchyness" seems to be directly related more to a improper pretan exfolation rather than the solution . Most decent quality systems today deliver a near flawless streakfree application. It sounds like you may have too much air pressure/ too small of a spray pattern/ too much product/ kinda thing going on! Hope this helps!!!

Re: Blotchy

Also, the "sticky" part indicates too much product. I always blow dry and "dust" my clients lightly with powder after a spray... not a trace of stickyness ever!!!! Again i hope this helps!!!

Re: Blotchy

Thanks everyone for their advice. I am going to order my solution tomorrow and tan a ton of people. I just feel since it was doing it on me it may be doing it on others too, but then again I dont take care of my tan as one should. Thanks again!!!

Re: Blotchy

Where are you located? The reason I ask is b/c this is my first summer doing tans- and I live in St. Louis. Which you may or may not know gets extremely humid... sometimes 90% humidity. This summer there has been some sticky tans that take a lot longer to dry compared to winter. Something to consider.

Re: Blotchy

Besthands: what kind of powder do you use and what do you use to "dust" them with?
