Question Norvell NT200 Spray Gun Settings- Help!

I will be opening up an airbrush tanning salon within the next month. I bought the Norvell NT-2000 system, and just performed my first spray tan last night on some friends of mine. I am having a difficult time judging how to adjust the knobs on the back of the gun to get the perfect fan pattern and fluid flow. I followed the recommended settings of 1 1/4 turn on one knob and then 3/4 of a turn on the other. It seemed like nothing was coming out of the gun...so I kept opening them more and more, but I still seemed to only be spraying stripes on my victims! Can anyone recommend a good position on the back knobs that you have used succesfully? Thanks!

Did you spray on to something white so you could see it better ?
Do that first if you have not already then little by little open up the fluid flow ( ity bit at a time)
The mist is so fine that you may not see it sometimes depending on lighting
Are you staying 4-6 inches away ? If you are farther it might not be hitting the target as much too... more overspray that way...

My new NT-2000 is awesome so far

Also, The spray will be soft - sounds like you ended up with TOO much fluid flow.
You just have to play with it - adjust also how you pull back on the trigger.
I would watch the video one more time...

Re: Norvell NT200 Spray Gun Settings- Help!

Thanks for the advice. I will try it again today. I have some white sheets I have been hanging up and spraying. I've watched the video several times, and keeping trying to set the gun as they suggest, but it seems like NOTHING is coming out of the gun when I do so. So, are you saying that TOO much fluid flow may make it look "striped" when applied, vs being a more even, soft spray?

Right ! when it is applying right it seems that the spray is soft - you can see it lightly when it hits the skin but it's not definate strong STRIPES. You should be able to overlap slightly without it being too much
