Rep Power: 0 | New spray tanners. Make quality business decisions! Often times, salon owners and mobile tanners look to save money on their initial investment. This is respectable because everyone is looking to save money, especially in todays economy. However, one should always look at the big picture before making any business decisions. One should always weigh out the pros and cons before writing the big check. Spray tanning has incredible profit margins, among the best that I have seen in any business. That equates to big profits in the long term. The key to this industry is creating a top notch experience and services. Your spray tanning business should thrive on word of mouth. You should not spend too much money chasing new clients. You should focus on taking care of the ones that you currently have. The amount of money that goes into a spray tan is very low and the revenues can be substantial. You should always have long term goals in place to create loyal clients. The way to do that is giving your best with every service. Treat your last like your first and your first like your last. Always give it your all! This includes your attention to detail, personal appearance and attitude. Be patient with your clients, relate to them and let them do the talking. Build your reputation on providing a great service and a pleasant experience. In order to provide the best service, you should be working with a quality product. It is not wise to try to save in the beginning with a company that will not give you any support, warranties etc. If you are confident with your equipment and solution then you will have a greater chance at success. There is a lot of money to be made in the long term and you should always view your business that way. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish. Spend the money, don't forget this is going to be your livelihood. A cheap machine and orange solution does not fit into a smart business model. Look for a warranty, reliable equipment and good solution . If you have the right tools for the job you will be much happier and successful. So don't forget, take care of your clients. Small gestures go a long way. Happy spraying, make some money! |

I am a single owner/technician of a mobile service and have been in business for about 6 months. I coord. various spa events and have a a few regulars and a modest amount of new clientele who seem excited, but I'm not getting party bookings. 1st. being a single individual -- my profits have a ceiling because their is only so much I can make as an individual unless my business ventures out in other areas. that being said, without a store front -- in your opinion, what is the best method (other than word of mouth and one's domain/website) for mobile co's to advertise? i've been thinking of it more often lately. any feedback is appreciated.

I am sorry to Eileen, I was just kidding around about the oompa loompas and infinity tan. I just get annoyed with that show with the orange people that sit around, fight and babble about nonsense. The feedback that I have heard is that it gives the industry a bad name. No offense, I really do apologize. I joined the site for a reason. I have been in a number involved in a number of different businesses since I graduated college. However, I just recently stumbled upon the cosmetic industry and I have never come across profit margins like this. So again, I am sorry for any lude remarks, it was all in good fun. I hope to be friends and help one another. As far as the teeth whitening is concerned, I have found that cosmetic teeth whitening is the only thing out there with better ROI(return on investment) than a spray tanning kit. So, if I am not supposed to mention profitable ideas to people I will refrain. What I will do is help anyone that is having issues creating and keeping new business. I am a very nice guy so again I am sorry if I offended everyone. I have been providing spray tans and teeth whitening to existing businesses. I cut them in on the profits and they book their existing clients for me. Everybody wins. Bronzed FX I would recommend looking to Real Estate offices, salons that don't currently spray tan , maybe a bar/rest where the employees want to look good(and pay cash). Just a couple of ideas. Simply create a professional looking sign up sheet and approach business owners. One thing I will do for a teeth whitening/ spray tan event is white wine and white cheese. This prevents people from staining their teeth. However, these are just ideas for you. It is all about promoting, talking about what you do and having pride in your product. You should always be spray tanned. A quick note, you mentioned that the website is the most important. I disagree, while having a website is important, it is all about getting people to the website. People love incentives, give them a reason to visit your website. Once they are at the website, you need to keep them there with USEFUL information. Bragging about your business is not the best idea, give them some GOOD info. When they are there you need to capture their information for any future promotions or services. I would love to discuss the business end of this with anyone who is interested. Bronzed if you would like to email me that will work too. I hope this has been helpful, and sorry to anyone who took offense to my comments. I had no malicious intent in mind. Take care |

Make quality business decisions! britesmile do you charge for your sevices? also no need to apolgize to me about infinity sun but you might want to email the president veronique munro and apologize to her if you are joking in public about her business. Also where did you get your feedback about Infinity Sun, I haven't seen this negative feedback you mention. Can you validate your comment with any type of source for us instead of going on one entreprenaur's college graduated business man selling teeth whitener? :)

It costs less than $30 dollars in product for combination and charge a BARE minimum of $100 per procedure. Not bad, just a spray tan $40. So, sorry again, I am raising the white flag. No more dumb remarks and sorry to you too miss infinity sun owner. |

I didn't mean do you charge for your sprays and teeth whitening. I mean do you charge for your services that you are asking members here to contact you about?

I said that I have heard a lot of negative feedback about the show and that is the truth. People don't like the way the industry is portrayed by the people on the show. That is just what I hear. I do however agree with them. Very unprofessional the way things are blown out of proportion and all of the cattiness between men and women. I am not trying to get into a peeing match eileen, you seem like you are knowledgable. I was saying that I shouldn't have said what I did about the O word(orange). |
