Disposables

Do you charge for disposable thongs? I had a client today who all but started crying because I ran out of disposable thongs (due to large biz over the 4th). I only airbrush tan, I do not have a spraybooth as of yet. Currently, I provide the disposables, hairnets, wipes, cotton pads and qtips, all used during the sessions. I only charge $25.00 for in house tans, mobile tans are much higher and I do not expect them to pay for the disposables, but some of these clients are acting like entitled queens. If you do charge, what's a fair price? Also, some unwrap them and once they see what it looks like, they throw it back on the shelf, even though there is a picture of the thong right there. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Re: Disposables

One thought, leave one unwrapped so they can see before they open package. You don't want to nickel and dime customer, be sure you have those items figured in with your cost.

Re: Disposables

My clients all have their own tanning underwear. Stop providing disposables...sell some cute thongs and advise them to bring their own. If you are only charging $25 per tan, you aren't making much money of the tan to begin with, why decrease your profit margin that much more!

What?

The client almost started to cry and got very upset when I told her we had run out of disp. thongs, she informed me she hadn't worn any underwear in, she said she felt very weird going in the nude. I was like "it's really no big deal, but if you prefer you can reschedule" so she hemmed and hawed a few minutes and reluctantly decided to do it in, dare I say it, the buff!!!!! As much as I apologized for running out, she smirked back and me and never once said "that's ok" or anything remotely accepting of understanding stuff happens.

Thanks to all the other replies!

Re: Disposables

Me too. That's too low. Perhaps consider package pricing that can be lower priced for those who are coming in frequently and are loyal clients. But, $25 for a single is too low.

Re: Disposables

Ok... so how much should a sunless tan cost??? I've been charging $ 25 for my weekly clients, and $35 for the once in a while clients! I do about 4-7 a day with Fridays sometimes double that. I quess i could give myself a raise!
