mixing solutions

Have any of you ever experienced around with mixing different solutions from different manufacturers? How were the results? Which solutions did you mix?

Re: mixing solutions

DON'T DO THAT!!! Theres is a huge difference in ingredents between different manufactures. Just get a good one and stay with it till you learn it's pros ans cons. They all give you a tan... but some are thicker, darker, more moisturizing, last longer, less/more sticky, smell good/bad, have different shlf lives, ect...
I have on occasion mixed an 8% and a 12% to get a 10 % but only the same manufacture. I hope this helps!! :)

Re: mixing solutions

No mixing solution from different suppliers. Mixing 2 with different DHA levels is a really good idea. This way you can gradually increase the DHA for your clients without getting to too dark

Re: mixing solutions

I mix 2 solutions from 2 different manufacturers every day. I have a 10.25 from Biddiscombe and a 12.50 from Organiglow/Scentual Sun that I mix every single day. I get great results...never had a problem. Been mixing these 2 for about a year. What kind of problems have you guys seen from mixing like this?

Re: mixing solutions

I have not yet found the perfect solution . One has great smell and lasts decently with little wash off - the tan you see when you spray is the tan you see after 1st shower, but I'm not sure the color is that great - I think it's a little orangey. The other, I love the color, not a great smell, and I feel that I lose a LOT off the tan when I shower. When I first spray it on, I think WOW! Then after the shower - I leave it on all night, I look in the mirror and am disappointed. I don't want my clients to feel that way.
I was just curious if anyone has mixed solutions trying to get the best of 2 worlds... I may experiment with myself a few times just to see what it would look like.

Re: mixing solutions

I love the Legacy solution that I use on alot of people. For some, it's not dark enough. Biddiscombe doesn't make Legacy in a higher percentage dha. They have another solution , I think it's Fusion, that is a 12%. I was not crazy about the color.

I had sampled Scentual Sun's Organiglow. They have a 10% clear and a regular 12.5%. Call me crazy, but I didn't like the 10% but liked the 12%. I thought it was sticky and a little more orangey than the Biddiscombe, and I like the color guide. BUT, I loved the 12 on darker skin. So did my clients that I used as guinea pigs. Nice brown color, good duration, not stinky, doesn't seem as sticky as the 10%.

Scentual Sun recomends using their 10 and 12% together. Instead I mix the Legacy and Organiglow when I get someone who wants to be a bit darker than I can get them with the Legacy.

Ps, both these solutions are paraben and alcohol free. The Legacy is 99% natural and I believe the Organiglow is organic. They have a relatively short ingredient list without alot of synthetic products.

Whew, that was a long post. Hopefully, I didn't bore anyone to death! But, that why I mix and how I ended up using 2 different manufacters.

Re: mixing solutions

Hey koipongirl! Just call different manufactures to obtain sample size solutions. Then Spray some of your friends ( guinie pigs) and ask for honest feedback. Trust me ... they will tell you the truth! Hope it works out for you!!!

Just curious about why you started mixing those 2 solutions - what properties were you trying to change? I am considering the Organiglow solutions but read on here that the tan doesn't last as long other brands. Can anyone comment, please?

Thanks in advance for your insight.
