Just curious - how many coats do you typically spray when using a HVLP system - one coat or two light coats?

Thanks for responding. That's what I've always done, but then I watched a "how to" video the other day and it said 1 coat. Just about everything that I've read and watched says something a little bit different. Some say 1 coat;others say 2 light coats. Some stress to start with the face; others say to do the face last. I guess you just need to look at all the information out there and then develop your own technique.

Hi koigirl ! I always go from top - down, front - side first. The feet will usually get enough overspray that you dont have to do them. and it saves you solution! Great name i have koi's too!!!

oops! i forgot the most important thing... i start with two light coats, if i need depth to the tan then i add from there. Usually ony two coats needed though!!!

Thanks, that's what I've been doing. I think I may have been using too much solution initially though. I've backed it down to about 2 oz per client and the tan is coming out much better looking.

If it's a new client I usually start with two coats of light on their face then medium on their body. It takes me all of a few seconds to figure out their skin (dry or oily/mixed) then spray accordingly. Some clients that dry quickly get one coat set to high then others might take longer to absorb or dry get 2 coats of light or medium.
