Vitiligo

Has anyone tanned someone with vitiligo? What are the challenges and solutions? She said she doesn't necessarily want to be darker, but wants uniform color.

Re: Vitiligo

I would suggest an airbrush . tanning did not work for our customer, just made it more prominent. we were able to even her out with airbrush .

Re: Vitiligo

I have 2 clints with vitiligo. I use a small airbrush gun to fill in the spots and a cotton swab to clean up the edges of overspray. After I sprayed my first client, she told me she felt like she had been let out of prison. She has had vitiligo for 2 years and has a closet full of clothes she has not been able to wear until now. I see her about every 2 weeks. I have her come in so I can give her the custom spray, she dries for about 10 minutes, then she comes back about 2 to 3 hours later so I can give her a full body spray. We charge an additional $10 for the custom spray and $10 for the full body spray after the custom.

Re: Vitiligo

I also recently had the opportunity to try this out. The client had the vitiligo on her ankles/feet. I use the same procedure for filling in tan lines on my clients as well. I fill it in with the airbrush and then go back over with the HVLP gun when I'm finished. It works really well!!

Re: Vitiligo

Just try something. Anything. Tantowel, tanning creme, whatever.

It's all DHA. Just find one that works the best for you.

Re: Vitiligo

Is there one particular solution that works better on Vitiligo? I have had requests to do hands and face and have been reading up on this but have not attempted. Will do my first client today. I'm going to use the airbrush machine first then may use my hvlp next.
