Rep Power: 0 | Re: Spray Tanning Certification our spray tanners are certified through Norvell. They learned quite a bit through the class. Wise investment for just $25 per person! I think people feel better knowing that my girls are certified. The certificates are on the wall in our spray tan room |

Thought I would just respond to the question about spray tanning certification. When I first started my mobile tanning business many people said that certification was not necessary and basically a bit of a way companies make money. Although it may not be required my experience has been that the information is valuable and the cost is minimal. It is basically an investment in your business and is a wonderful marketing/promotional tool that can help your business stand out and at the very least looks great on your wall. If you are lucky enough to have courses in your area I strongly advise to go for a hands on training certification course. There is no substitute for hands on experience and this can be truly invaluable especially when you are just starting out. That being said the online certification is still a good opportunity to learn about the industry, pick-up marketing/promotions tips and get advice from those with a lot more experience. I took the Norvell course online in 2010 and again in 2011. The first time it was totally automated (learn at your own pace) with an online test which required a certain percentage to pass and I received a link to an electronic manual (a printed copy was sent with my certificate). The next time was live (hosted by Brandon) online and questions were addressed and it was quite interactive. There wasn't a test and I didn't receive a hardcopy of the course material. Both times I learned something new. In addition to the certificate course I did hands on training and of course loads of practise sessions! It's a fun business and I love meeting clients helping them to look and feel great for special events in their lives! : ) |
