Re: Fantasy Tan

No I was referring to just the air caddy system. I noticed there were alot of post regarding this company and many people have asked about the cost. However no one ever really responded with anything outside of "it's expensive" Well I just spoke to a rep and the cost of the system is around $3900. It sounds high, but it does come with some impressive services and products. Thank you for you response.

KSTAR have you looked into or tried Infinity Sun? Our customers are extremely happy with it.

Re: Fantasy Tan

I will look at it. Is it as portable as the Fantasy Tan? Same price range or less?

Re: Fantasy Tan

wow 7-8K?!?!?!
the spray gun they have can be bought for $79....they had that exact gun at the place I bought mine. Its made by dura-block and looks cheesy in person. Does anyone actually have this system? Id like to ask you a few questions about the case.

As far as the case its just a case made by someone like pelican and you can get those from around $140 and you can mount your own stuff inside of it.

I am putting together a system almost identical to this from my own imagination and I see that fantasy tan already does it...albiet very expensively. I am going to be putting a C02 tank inside of mine so there is no need to plug it in and there will be no noise other than the sound of the spray gun. A 20lb CO2 tank will give you something like 20-30 hours of spray for a fill charge of like 13 dollars.... If you buy a transfer set up you can have a 50lb or an 80lb bottle filled for around $15 and fill your own smaller tank when it gets low.

When I get it all set up I will post pics if anyone is interested.

Re: Fantasy Tan

CO2 thing sounds very, very nice.

I agree. All these "spray systems" are in some way a rip off. All you are doing is airbrushing. Its nothing new. Airbrush guns and anything associated with it you could imagine have been around for a LONG time.

Not doing airbrush anymore, but we were using two brush with one being an automotive gun.

If youve got more money than time then by all means go for a system... The only problem I have is from what people are saying on here is that you run into problems with solutions of different viscosity because there is no adjustment in the spray gun and that is where you get flow problems which lead to the drips or just wasted solution . If you buy a decent HVLP gun you can adjust for any spray solution . Ive looked at so many websites that I cant remember all of the places Ive seen it, but I have seen my spray gun on several high end websites and they are selling it for upwards of $300 or they include it in their spray system. I bought mine from an airbrush store for $219. I also bought the iwata revolution airbrush for $69 for face and detail work around the rear and ab sections. I also agree with the sentiment that if you are using two guns it "feels" more specialized and thorough to the customer.

As far as compressors..... There is a central pnuematic compressor that has the same specs as the iwata one but it sells for $99 and has wheels, a spray gun holder, and a handle. It is a tiny bit louder and wont last for ever, but at 1/4 the price it will work fine for tanning if you are trying to get started. I didnt buy it because I had a compressor but I saw it in passing.

You just have to do a little searching around. The gun Im using is the iwata RG3. I use the .5mm fan tip but I know a person that uses as small as a .3mm with great success but it takes a little more time. Its all about setting up the gun so your flow and air is correct. The nice thing about that gun is you can adjust the flow pattern on the nozzle with one hand so you can make it a vertical or horizontal pattern with a 1/4 turn and it stays in adjustment. Not really neccessary but it makes it nice. It just makes more sense to spray long ways on body parts with the spray going the right direction then to do a bunch of small stripes up and down the arms or back or whatever.
You can also adjust the nozzle so it makes about a 2" circle but its just easier for the girls I have spraying to use the airbrush and leave everything at the same adjustment....

I really think the CO2 can be a good option for portable people. You can get an 80lb CO2 tank and a small aluminum tank and refill it yourself. You have to buy a transfer set up which will cost about $80 but when it only cost $4 more to have an 80lb tank filled versus a 20lb tank it just makes sense and its a little more convienent. Ill let you know how it goes.

Re: Fantasy Tan

Please do. Sounds like a neat concept and would love to see it in practice. Surprised no one, that I know of, has done this before. Kudos to you!
