Re: Mobile Spray Tanners Websites?

I should have mine up & running by the end of the week! I like music for the site, but I couldn't find a song that I really, really liked for the site. Maybe next time. For now, my site points to my Myspace page, but by end of the week, hit refresh on your browser button & it should be a regular page :-)

Great site Blondie! I have been wanting to do this for some time...you have motivated me! I think it's important to have the before and afters. Some people have a bad impression of sunless. It's great they can take a look and see they can get beautiful and natural color.

Which solutions from Fantasy do you use? All ? There seems to be quite a few.

Re: Mobile Spray Tanners Websites?

Ok, my site is up & running as of today. Please go check it out!!! Blondie noticed some typos, so I think they'll be fixed by tomorrow. I also requested that they add the service area. I had left it out because I had hoped to move closer to LA, but I guess I can do it later.

Re: Mobile Spray Tanners Websites?

sonyafly you start out your first paragraph explaining that DHA is FDA approved. Your site if very misleading to the consumer. Spray tanning to my knowledge is still not FDA approved yet tanning in a tanning bed is. Also you say the sun is damaging. The sun is only damaging if you are overexposed and not taking care of your skin and having a proper diet.

Other then your opening paragraph (which is a first impression) the site is nice. :)

"The use of DHA as a color additive for cosmetic application to the skin has long been approved by the FDA. It has been sold in bottled self-tanning lotions for over 30 years,
and is also the active tanning ingredient in spray tanning solution .

During the FDA's original approval process, in the 1970's, their study of DHA was for application in the form of a lotion or cream, which would be spread by hand. As a result, the FDA has not studied the effects of DHA in the area of the eyes or nasal passages.

When applying DHA sunless products as a spray or mist it may be difficult to avoid exposure of areas for which the FDA has not tested, including the area of the eyes,
lips, nasal passages, or even internally. Consequently, the FDA recently issued a recommendation that the following precautions be utilized where DHA sunless
products are applied by spraying or misting:

* Cover the area of the eyes
* Protect the lips and nasal passages
* Avoid inhalation or ingestion of the product

EYE PROTECTION LIP PROTECTION INHALANT PROTECTION

DHA is dihydroxyacetone, a carbohydrate (monosaccharide sugar) compound approved by the FDA for use in externally applied sunless tanning solutions . DHA is usually derived from a vegetable source like beets or sugar cane. Its properties as a skin darkener were discovered in the 1920's but weren't marketed as such until the 1960's when Coppertone® introduced Quick Tan®. It was added to the FDA's list of approved cosmetic ingredients in the 1970's. DHA is the tanning ingredient used in the Mystic Tan tanning solution that has produced more than 2 million sunless tans with no documented reports of adverse effects."

I researched the subject throughly before I went into business. Where have you found that it is not FDA approved?

Re: Mobile Spray Tanners Websites?

I guess my understanding was that the FDA has not approved DHA for spray tanning booths. If I have misunderstood this & what I have read & researched, I will remove that from my site. I trust what you say though Eileen.

This is their website:

Re: Mobile Spray Tanners Websites?

And you feel putting someone in a tent with no ventilation is somehow better then a booth? I feel my setup is considered similar to a booth. I go by their wording of " spray tanning or spray mist". The company I bought my system from has EVERY client sign a release form understanding that spray tanning is NOT currently FDA approved. I have however covered all of these precautions by offering wink-eze, nose filters, under garments and chapstick at no additional cost to the client.

Re: Mobile Spray Tanners Websites?

I have an extraction system behind the person and in front of me. I am doing the sprays and the solution is going away from me and into the filters. If I happen to do back to back sprays I will wear nose filters and not chat as much. lol I don't always believe everything I read but I will paste this from the site where I bought my system:

" This unit allows you to perform the service in an FDA approved environment by preventing the inhalation overspray."
