Re: Bodybuilders??

Yes you do spray them with a DHA product, but if they shower the bronzer off they will not be as dark as the judges want them to be (unless they have very dark skin to begin with). Lighting on stage also plays a part as to how dark they need to be. If it is a show on a high school stage, then they do not need to be as dark. Professional shows (that I attend like the Arnold or any IFBB shows) will have extremely bright lighting and the tan needs to be dark. The competitor will look un-naturally dark off stage.

The problem with spraying a bodybuilder with a high DHA level is that if they have light skin, to much DHA will turn them orange. You really need a tan with DHA and a Dark Color Guide.

Bodybuilders do sweat on stage, but if they have a base tan from the DHA and a quality product designed for stage they will fine.

Re: Bodybuilders??

Nevermind...I just saw your above post where you mention the Ultimate Competition Bronze. Who makes this product and where do you get it?

Re: Bodybuilders??

I have a friend that is a national level bodybuilder and this is what he does....
weds before the comp he shaves his entire body - even areas without "hair" which helps get off all the dead skin. He then applies lotion to his entire body.
on thurs when he showers and scrubs his entire body with apricot scrub and covers entire body with lotion. He also puts clear nail polish on his fingers and toes so they dont turn orange and stay that way for months. Put 3-4 coats of tanning lotion everywhere except on the hands, elbows, knees, feet, and face.
On friday he puts another 3-4 coats on including the places he skipped the night before. Some people shower before applying the final coat on friday night but he doesnt.
he uses the tanning lotions and says that protan is good but jantan is the best for competition. He says an even better mix is to use protan on thurs as the base and jantan on friday as the top coats.....
Im all for spray tanning but its not always the best option...hope this helps
