Re: Tanning Parties

Way to go Eileen, I'm waiting to do my first party at the salon, I need to advertise it, I've been a little lax in getting my S*** together lately, I just orderd an infrared sauna and am hopng to do some type of skin nourishment, like have them sit in the sauna and then spray. Hey, do you think I could work this angle with some type of R&R tanning party?

Re: Tanning Parties

What do you think about giving a free gift to all clients who come to the tanning party? I would appreciate any ideas on gifts. I have been thinking about sample sizes of extenders, maybe gift card for a free leg tan or $10 off their next tan and/or maybe exfoliating hand gloves or puffs? Do you give anything away to the clients for a gift?
Thanks

I think that's a great idea aeganje. I think that sounds like a nice idea calsunmil. If you get a chance pm what infrared system you got. :)

The mask gets kind of annoying. Get the surgical kind. It's easier to breathe & not so sweaty. But nose filters will probably do the trick too!!

I sell a great tan extender from Breeze & my rep sent me a large 32oz bottle with little cups to give out 1 oz samples. Since I have the samples for that product, I sell it the most. And it is the most expensive of the ones I sell. The packaging isn't that great, but the product is.

I give everyone a sample, a coupon for $10 off their next mobile tan (I charge $50 for mobile), I have a gift for anyone that books a party (just some back scrubber brushes, & a loofa on a stick & happened to score at the 99 cent store), & you can also do a drawing for a free spray tan if you find that feasible. Everyone that comes gets their name in once. If they bring a friend, they get their name in twice!

Just a couple of ideas :-)

You can give a group discount if it will be a large group (say 10+) and knock $5-$10 off. Or you can tan the manager for free. =)
You probably don't want to spray them right before they go on stage - they will sweat/rub off the solution and look streaky. Spray them 6-8 hours before their shift starts or after the shift is over.

Sonyafly-do they put this tan extender on right after you spray them? I usually tell clients to wait awhile before applying any lotion or make up.

I have them to start using the tan extender the day after the spraying. If they are great about moisturizing, they can alternate the tan extender in the morning, and a regular moisturizer at night. I've used the tan extender every day & it my tan lasted for 10 days. It has no alcohol or mineral oil, just a lot of really great ingredients (Hemp Seed oil, jojoba, etc).

I also sell a nice lotion from Biddiscombe (Deep Hawaii brand) that I have them alternate it with.
