Re: AIRBRUSH ERROR!
CAPS = BAD! :)
Not always. Everyone has their technique, but I always do two. First, you can make them darker, not lighter so doing one coat then another works really well. Its like putting black paint on a white wall, two coats will LOOk better and be more even. Circular motions are good, but it depends on what you are spraying. We have two air-brushes on our system. We start with the BIG gun and do a quick shot across the face, nothing much really but gets a base down. Then we do their chest, stomach and inside of arms. From there we move onto their back and back of the legs. Then they turn and we do the front of their legs. We do not spray the feet. Not that they are turned around we have them hold up their arms and do the under-arms and sides of torso. We then finish off the arms and repeat. When finished we large capacity gun, we move onto the face with the artisan brush and paint their face, very lightly, and detail the ears and hair-line. We spend a good amount of time on the face. We also find people dont squint with the smaller brush spraying the face, that means no crows-feet. But like I said, everyone does it different. Its the outcome that matters. Try doing two or even three coats. Remember, they will likely get DARKER as the solution works. So dont get them too dark! Also - when you are moving the gun, dont stop on the body. Brush right off the body into air before stopping and turning back.

Re: AIRBRUSH ERROR!
Are you using an airbrush for their entire body?? I use an HVLP gun for the main part of the body and an airbrush for the face, jawline, hands, and feet at the end. I break the body up into sections and do two coats on each section as I go (back, then each side, then front, then arms, then I get the airbrush out for the rest).
Are you consistently having to touch up the same area on these people, or do they all have different areas needing to be touched up? |

Re: AIRBRUSH ERROR!
800 grit wet/dry sand paper will take out most runs. Follow up with 3M rubbing compound and 500 rpm orbital buffer.

Re: AIRBRUSH ERROR!
I've now tested 5 solutions and none of them compare to Infinity Sun's for color and consistancy. Some of these other solutions are probably fine in "other" airbrush guns but they run out like water in ours.

Re: AIRBRUSH ERROR!
Splotchy areas! I only have the one spray brush gun. I guess I need a bigger gun for the main parts of the body and use the smaller one for faces and such...thank you

Re: AIRBRUSH ERROR!
grahamsk, you give a lot of nice ideas but why not go the extra mile and get your clients nose filters?
