New Year Eve Sprays

Ok,
So I have several people wanting to get sprayed today for tonight. Now I'm new at airbrushing and I know that you aren't supposed to shower for around 10 hours. I'm wondering how everyone else is handling those last minute people. I'll highly suggest a cocktail, with 5 min in my standup afterward the spray. Also, if you have to get ready to go out and the 10 hours hadn't passed use water to rinse off, but no soap. Or try to wear dark colored clothing so that it's less noticable.

If they want to go out without showering how does it affect the color on the face. Obsiously applying make up can affect the spray.

Just wondering if some of the seasoned vets can spare tips for this situation.

Re: New Year Eve Sprays

Fist if they do tan, lotion is a HUGE no no.

But as for the "cool down" time, it depends on the solution . Ours is 4 hours, max - any longer and they make look "dirty" even after they was off the bronzer.

Our Breeze solution is 6 hours max.

So it depends on the solution you have, which is mainly dependent on the percentage of DHA. More DHA typically means less time between application and shower time.

Ah good to know. I'm using the Norvell Regular, 8.5 DHA.

Re: New Year Eve Sprays

8.5%, ya, 10 hours would likely be the max.

People CAN shower earlier, the most critical time after a session is the first hour or two. But if you do shower early, you will not get the best color.

Personally I MUST shower after a session before I do anything, so I plan accordingly.

Dark clothing would be the best advise you have given. But really once you hit the water, its all over. The DHA should slow its rate of coloring, that is the stuff that has not absorbed yet. So if they do shower, they may as well shower well.

Shower gels works best, soaps dry out the skin. Scrubbing hard - not a good idea. Exfoliation will give AWESOME results if they do it before the session, doing it after is a bad idea.

Re: New Year Eve Sprays

I know New Years is over but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents for future reference. I sometimes spray people darker than I normally would if they cannot wait the full 8 hours to shower. I use a 10% solution on almost everybody and control the color by how much solution I use on them based on their skin type. So if they need to shower sooner than normal I will spray them with more of the 10% than I normally use. Depending on the skin type, I may even use a solution that has a higher % dha than I would normally use on them. I've done this on myself quite a few times... seems to work just fine. I do warn them that if they leave it on the full 8 hours they will look orange.
