UV After Spray

Does UV effect a sunless tan adversly?

An example, I get sprayed Monday afternoon and want to tan (using a lotion of course) on Wed. Would the tanning lotion and/or UV aggrevate the sunless tan?

Re: UV After Spray

It shouldn't/wont at all. In fact alot of people have their customers go into a stand up after their spray so that they can get completely dry. I have them UV tan prior to their spray because I heard if they sweat after they are sprayed, it can turn green.

The only thing that will effect the spray tan is any lotions with AHA. The more lotion, the better to maintain the spray.

Re: UV After Spray

We normally recommend that if they are going to do a bed, have them UV first. If they are doing stand up, spray first then UV after. The results always turn out deeper, darker and even can appear to last longer. It's really important to think about the lotions being applied. For example, if a UV tanning accelerator is being used, make sure that the UV is done first so that the accelerator can be wiped off before sunless, as it can sometimes interfere with the tanning process. If you are doing UV after sunless, do not use an accelerator for the same reason. I have clients that keep a crock pot in their sunless room with moist warm wash towels so that when their customers are getting ready for their spray, they can wipe down their skin.
