Hi all,
I have the tc3 whispermist made by apollo, and I'm in a day spa. This is supposed to be the quietest since it's in a quiet box, but it still sounds like a loud shop vac. Is this normal or just a bad machine? I assumed it would be much quieter, and am getting complaints from the adjoining rooms. I've seen a demo of the fantasy tan unit and you could hardly hear it working. I'm wondering if this is just the way it sounds. Thanks in advance for your input.:sarcasm:

Mines kinda loud. But it never said it wouldn't be. I've never heard of this brand either. So i guess I'm no help. Sorry.

Check where you got your Apollo. Most people feel it is quiet.
Big dif in price bet Apollo and Fantasy. Check other threads, most don't feel its worth price. Only one person who post here that I've read really feels she got her monies worth.

I liked the demo I got for the Fantasy Tan just for the machine, not their solutions. I use breeze and LOVE it! My machine is supposed to be the quietest as far as turbines go, but I'm getting sooo many complaints from people getting facials and so on. I didn't want to spend the money on the Fantasy Tan unit since I didn't like their solutions, but now I'm second guessing myself (with the noise). I appreciate any input...

Has anyone here tried to build a quiet box or a closet for their unit? And did you have any noticable improvement?

annie, all turbines are the same. the noise will not be muted by building a box around it. if anything this is a bad idea because you are preventing air flow and this causes the unit to heat up even more than it usually does. very dangerous!!

did scott come out to do your Fantasy Tan demo? I really did alot of research before i bought my unit and I was impressed with how little solution the Aircaddy used, how it was dry so quickly, and the lack of overspray. did you consider these factors before you went with apollo? was it just a money thing? i know everyone has a budget!

Scott was not the one that did my demo. I did my homework, and read many reviews about where people said you could get a comparable machine for much less. I still purchased a machine which was on the more expensive end, as far as most turbines go. I thought the Fantasy Tan unit was AWESOME! (And I still do, knowing what I know now). I just didn't really get good results from their solution. It faded poorly after three days. So that's what turned me off from it. I didn't want to spend that kind of money, if I wasn't 100% into their product. In the future, I may still consider buying their machine, but just using my own solution. It is the only true "Quiet" machine I've seen thus far.

I put my hvlp in a storage/laundry room next to the room I spray in. Then,drilled a small hole thru the wall and fed the hose thru and then put the gun on. It has worked out great for me and the massage therapist using the room on the other side of me. She cannot hear the machine at all and the noise is minimal in my room. I don't know your set up but just an idea for you.

I too just purchased the Apollo TC3 because they said that it is no louder than a persons voice in a normal conversation. I don't have the machine yet, should have it by Monday, but hmmmm .. . . I hope it's not TOO loud! That's why I bought the one I did!
