Rep Power: 17 | Mentors I dont know if anyone is interested...I am looking for a mentor/ someone thats been in the biz for a bit that might want to help me out with my day to day Q's? This might sound weird asking that kind of question but I find that I have lots and starting a new business Im going insane and I am a bit of a nervous wreck to say the least. Maybe some other newbies would like a mentor as well? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Mentors That is what these boards are for!:) It is like have 1000 mentors! I have a local mentor in town that has a salon across town from me so we are not competitors, but understands my market more. I do tend to get a ton of answers from all the tanning boards. It is nice to be able to hop online and chat with fellow tanning salon owners. If you have any questions either post away or do a search! Everyone here is very nice and willing to help out with answers to questions, especially for the newbies! You an always PM me if you have a question you dont want to post :) |

Funny stuff...I have 4 children to tend to as well as 2 businesses so it gets a bit hectic and I cant check in as much as maybe I wish I could. I was looking for a single person more or less to be able to ask q's. I have zero people in this area in this business. I wish I knew it all but I dont and I have no shame in saying so. Its a heck of alot easier to be able to call someone up and say "hey, I am having this issue" or "hey what do you think of this idea"?? kwim? | |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Mentors kmbrley1..all kidding aside... To learn the biz just like you said you have to practice and practice...errors will occur and you will learn from them. As was stated above. This is the best place to learn! You have many mentors. I have been in biz for 14 yr+ as so many other on here have lots of experience. One mentor is ONLY one opinion...Use all the knowledge to form your own opinion to what is Right and Wrong..This is where you will gain your knowledge. Example. What if the ONE mentor you trust gives you his/her opinion/experience and it JUST doesn't work with YOUR guest? Then you poss. loose that guest. Ask loads of questions and play with and use all this experience of many to formulate YOUR method of spraying :) BEst wishes and regards Spray away and have a great spray tanning day... |
