Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
I always tell my guest to use a very gentle body was after their service: products without petroleum bases, lauryl sulfates, or fruity acids. just to name of few.
I tell them to use products with lavender, rose hip water, green tee extracts, glycerin base, aloe base, palm oils or coconut, wheat proteins, avocado oils, just to name of few:) |

Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
Thanks for the great advice. I will try spraying 2 coats and educate them more on what to stay away from. What kind of drying time should I be looking at before I apply another coat and then powder them? Do you offer a discount to customers whos tan may only last 3 days? When I spray I am starting with the back then they rotate , then the sides etc. Anyone have any better application ideas- I have seen here that some people start with the face..etc. Which is best??

Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
I start from the bottom and go up. By the time I finish with the first coat and I start again, its been enough time. Thats my solution though. I start from the waist and go down and then the face and go down. I DO NOT offer a discount to customers if their tan lasts 3 days. If you know your solution can do better then it is the customers fault. Educate them on how to make it last longer and the rest is up to them. I do spray peoples faces for them if they are regular customers after a few days if they want it.

Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
I'm with Cali. Client does have responsibility to take care of their skin after. You educate them and then its up to them. (the ol' "you can bring 'em to the river but you can't make them drink it" comes to mind) Our solution dries really quick so drying time is not an issue.
SZ Girl maybe you also need to try different solution then what you are using. We all have our favorites. The one (ones) that have worked for us. You just need to find yours. |

Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
Almost every company will send you samples for little or no charge. Try all that you can before sticking with one. I also do 2 light coats.... good luck!

Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
Okay, so it is really up to them to make their tan last. But outside of just suggesting not to use certain products - do you guys sell the body washes, soap, etc. If so ...good profits?? Bravotan- you mentioned a "primer spray" what is this? I have heard of the sluff wipes but not primer spray.
Cali's Finest- I purchased my sluff wipes from florida airbrush tanning - I had already purchased the breeze solution so I did not try any of theirs but B.A. was a complete help. I loved their products the "prepare" and "maintain" I also saw somewhere - that someone suggested people to use sport sunscreen- it helps keep the tan on....??? I don't know ...any thoughts. |

Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
I read it in a past post somewhere - you were talking about "why people have multiple solutions".If I remember right I think you only use 1 right? Which now makes more sense to me that I have actually started spraying some people. It feels like I have been researching this forever. I had already ordered the breeze solution when I talked to BA. So I am going to use that -then try hers.

Re: Help with spraying technique,Please..
We use a "primer spray", actually called an exfoliating spritz. Great for the client who forgets to prep their skin. You always want to have retail products to go with spraying. We have a package of small bottles of a sugar scrub, a body polish and tan extender. We retail it for $15.00. Great for even the client who only gets sprayed occassionally. Regulars buy the larger bottles.
