Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

These ph balancers you speak of? You use them prior to each session, or clients use them at home? I'm confoozed.

Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

Sluff Wipes come in a canister with I THINK 40 in them... they are wipes that are saturated with the stuff. One side is smooth and the other is more abrasive and blue... I give them 2 before each tan and tell them to use the blue side first all over then flip it over and wipe with the white. They come 6 canisters to a box for $36. I just give it to them for free with thier tan and factor the cost into what I also use in solution. I figure that if it helps what I do come out more flawless its worth doing it then not.

http://www.tanextender.com/sluffwipes_canisters.html Thats the retail price.

Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

So prior to each spray then, gotcha. Do you charge for these or is it incorporated into the session charge?

Yeah, for free. Your ph can spike if you just get almost get into a wreck on the way to my place. I figure its worth it for what you dont know about them to make sure the tan comes out great.

Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

Hmmmmmmmmmm? Why can't anything be simple?

Should I hire a chemist? Lab tech perhaps?

Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

Its not about being simple... I do one thing, looking to maybe do two. If thats ALL I do, I wanna do it well, you would too, we just choose to do different things. I would love to change your mind about sunless, if nothing else just so you wouldnt be so anti.

Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

Oh, I'm only against it because it has been a major thorn in the side of those of us that know and believe that proper UV exposure is not a death sentence, and meantime sunless promoters tend to deem their services as the answer to that death sentence. That's what ****** me off!

Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

I don't preach either way, as a matter of fact I tan in beds 10xs more then I get sprayed. I just offer another option. I have alot of people under age who can't get in the beds, I have alot of pregnant clients, I have alot of people refered to me by dermatoligists, and I have alot of people that are too lazy to tan for events. No one here does what I do and the booths we have around here are suspect of being one brand and then useing MUCH cheaper, nastier solution in them so people would rather me then them. I started this buisness when I was 21 and now I am 26, origanally just looking for a career and a new way to make money. Tan all you want, I do. I just love my job, too.

Re: Skin Typing & pH Balancers

We use an exfoliating spray on clients to prep their skin before spraying. Only $10 for 16 oz and helps us look good in case client forgot not to apply any lotion or deodorant.
I do agree. Think I need to go back and retake a chemistry class.
