Rep Power: 0 | Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice Although I've never considered offering sunless tanning before, I've had several inquiries about it lately. There are very few salons in my area that offer it and I thought it might be worth some research. I have a lot of questions: Airbrush vs Booth -- pros / cons (Based on cost, I would lean towards airbrush ) If airbrush , what is the typical routine? Do you have any "rules" on what to wear? Do clients fill out any special release forms? Prices Best Equipment, Solutions Additional Retail Offerings Associated with Sunless Tanning Etc. I am looking for some honest advice -- anyone want to chat about the basics of sunless? Thanks! |

I didn't enjoy it at all but we had the old kind that took forever. If you go with airbrush , I would go with one of the turbo done in five minutes kind of deal. I think Mystic Tan is also refurbishing some of their old equipment so you can buy used. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice I just had a demo on the Cal Tan Mobile Bronzer yesterday and the system is pretty impressive for the cost. I also debated between a booth and airbrush and airbrush just seems like such a better option for me. Low cost investment with better results, I think. No orange/brown hands and you can customize the color/output to the tanner's skin so that it looks more natural. I think the customer's win in the end with a better result being custom tanned than in a booth with a one-size fits all option. They just need to shed their modesty at the door with airbrushing. Cal Tan was very easy to use, amount of spray was easily controlled, it dried instantly and there was virtually no overspray. The solution was a bit sticky but the color was good and smell wasn't bad. We're thinking of getting the mobile bronzer. I've had too many requests here for spray tanning that I don't think I could afford not to get one. |
