Re: Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice
Thanks for all the info on machines & solutions, everyone -- very helpful stuff.
Changing the subject a little, does anyone have the customer fill out any forms before their spray tan (ie. hold-harmless agreement, no guarantee, etc.)? How about a "what to do before and after your session" sheet? Thanks again!

Re: Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice
I have a sunfx pro spray tan system. I love it. Its easy as heck, and looks amazingly like a real tan. It is a little more pricey from the others but I got a good deal on it and I've already paid for it in spray tans.

Re: Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice
body glo, I'm about 45 minutes east of you, in Oakdale (St. Paul suburb). My husband has family over your way -- I may have to stop in your place and have it done next time we're over that way, if you don't mind. I've never personally had a spray tan and no one around here offers it (that I know of.) You are currently using the Cal Tan solution, right?

Re: Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice
uts - hey neighbor! We have not actually purchased the Cal Tan equipment yet but hope to within the next month or so. Not sure if I'm sold on the Cal Tan solution yet - it wasn't bad at all but if there is better stuff out there, I'd rather try it out. When I get it in, I'll let you know! If you wouldn't mind being a person I can practice on? :)
do you have ProSun tanning beds? I remember when i was looking at those beds, the rep directed me to a salon in Oakdale - was that you? |

Re: Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice
Please do let me know when you get it in -- I'd be happy to be test-model for you :) Great thing about us Minnesotan's -- we're always happy to help out our neighbors!
I'm sure we're the ones ProSun referred you to. Did you end up with their beds or did you go with another mfg? I don't want to get this thread too far off track...feel free to PM me at blondecat@comcast.net

Re: Totally New to Sunless -- looking for advice
We use the norvell solution and system and so far so good as far as performance goes. We keep down the "sticky" factor by doing two light coats rather than one. We do a light once over, stand in front of the fan for a minute or so, and do the next once over. I do HVLP rather than airbrush, though, so this might not be economical time wise with the airbrush.
