Wouldn't popular mean they were the most liked?

I would think most popular = most sold.

The people on Dancing with the Stars are all sprayed with Caltan solution. They all have a nice dark tan.

Sounds like a response only a Caltan employee or distributor could make.

Re: Cal Tan solution feedback needed

i tried cal tan when i first started airbrushing... and thought it was great, cause i was new. one day i saw one of my clients out and about and she looked orange... i said "what the heck happened to you?" and she said "what do you mean, you sprayed me!" and i was like "dang, that is orange!" (under my breath). It was just OKAY... not too overly orange that anyone ever complained, but too orange for me to be able to sleep at night!

i tried norvell and loved it! absolutely LOVE it! i have only had a couple of issues with a couple of clients that i spray regularly... but i don't think it is the solution as much as maintenance or skin issues!

someone really kind on here, no spam, sent me some samples of spray that i anxiously want to try, but haven't been able to... because all my clients do not want to try anything else! I tried breeze for a few bottles and it did not go well at all! everyone asked me to bring back the norvell... and the customer is always right! right?

bill, i have also gotten so many complaints about mystic tan. i get people that come in complaining about the orangeness every couple of days. almost every single one of my new clients has a story about the mystic booth and swore off spraying or booths until another one of my clients convinced them to give me a try! i have had people come in crying and asked me to fix them, and clients that still get teary eyed while rehashing an incident from the mystic long ago. not slamming mystic! i swear! just telling you my experience here in town. i don't even slam the place where they tried it!

I love Norvell as well... had a call from Cal Tan today trying to get me to switch. I have had no issues with my Norvell and they really couldn't give me a good reason to switch other than it was used on Dancing with the Stars and Sunset Tan! To be honest, the after shot of that little girl on Sunset tan the other night looked aweful! If that is the results I am going to get from Cal Tan, I am definitley sticking to my Norvell! Love, Love, Love it!!

Re: Cal Tan solution feedback needed

Hey Guys - Mystic does NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT turn you orange. And as angry as critics get about Mystic making you a partner (requiring you buy their solution to be a certified partner and be shown on their website) is SO SMART.

As mad as it makes people that we are forced to buy their solution, I totally respect it - and get it. If you buy the REAL solution from Mystic, it delivers an incredible tan. We have had it 2.5 years, and it has never once given an Orange tan. That's just crazy.

If you have been in a Mystic that turned you Orange, then it was NOT mystic solution. The ONLY problem we have had it is streaking when people don't exfoliate or they wipe (instead of blot) excess spray when they are finished.

As much of a democracy as it seems to be ... I think the partnership program is fair, and this is EXACTLY why it makes sense. Mystic has a bad name out there - most certainly because of owners not using the Mystic brand of sprays.

We have both the clear and bronzing, and have incredible satisfaction with both. Soooo much negative press from the Mystic critics, and even a few owners who say it just doesn't sell well, and I'm sure in some markets, it doesn't.

In southern Cal, it is very popular, and the most successful salons have the Mystic as an option. Ours gets used every day ... and we have alot of people who use it 2-3 times/week.

Re: Cal Tan solution feedback needed

Agree with Carlsbad. I have the Mystic booth, have only used Mystic PREMIUM for 3+ years and I really have no complaints at all, nor have my clients - some who have been regulars that entire time.

I used to use the Bronzer Premium, switched to the Clear and have been very pleased with that. I wouldn't go back to the Bronzer.

I've only tried the Cal Tan solution in a Cal Tan Autobronzer booth - and to me -- it was "orangy", as well as too dark (I'm blonde). Also sticky. And didn't last nearly as long. But I preferred the afterscent to that of Mystic.

I'm sure other solutions work well too (used the Norvell in the Cabana Mist booth and liked it), and what works in a booth might not be as good for airbrushing and vice-versa. But I would hardly agree that Mystic solution in Mystic booths turns people orange!

Re: Cal Tan solution feedback needed

i agree about people not using the mystic solution, the real solution! infact, i usually tell people that complain about that... i heard that you can go onto their website and they will tell you who in your neighborhood buys solution from them, so you can be sure to go to a reputable salon... so i pass that along to the clients. because airbrushing isn't for everyone, not everyone is comfortable standing in front of someone like that! and i am not about bashing another salon.

sorry, no VersaSpa here! i thought you wanted to know about cal tan solution!
