omg, please tell me that's not the set up you went with? when you said norvell, i thought you meant their airbrush unit. you bought that turbine with the two-toned hose? i might take missyhot's suggestion and play music or hum (not like they're going to be able to hear you humming) to try and cover the sound of that thing...

how would you feel if you walked into that room? i would start there. remember, you're trying to sell to people based on emotional/psychological appeal, not by yelling "we've got spray tans for $5!"

I tell them I am not seeing their body parts, as I am only concentrating on where the guide is being sprayed. Of course they are standing in front of you naked, and you are both aware of that, but I talk about the product and the process the entire time to make them feel more comfortable. I always tell them I have done hundreds of people, naked bodies don't even phase me any more! I once had a younger girl in that was so nervous....it seriously took her 10 minutes to build up the courage to drop her robe! I told her to take the time she needs, and it gets easier the next time. She got through it just fine and is a regular customer now. Just don't act nervous yourself, act like its not a big deal....its just boobs!

How about just convincing these "humans" to get their asses in the tanning booth and loose the spray?

There is ZERO reason to get sprayed, there are 100s of reasons to get a real tan.

You are so wrong engfant! Spray tan may not be for your business. But it IS A HUGE asset to other people's bottom line. Some people can not go in the sun or the tanning bed's. I am one of them. You as an owner know that people just have more confidence and feel better when they are tan. A spray tan will deliver this!
