Rep Power: 0 | Airbrushes For those of who use an airbrush rather than a gun, what type do you use and with what type of compressor? Does an airbrush save you on overspray? I know most ppl use hvlp guns because they are quicker but i thought airbrushes might be a little more precise? I did a forum search and found some one was using a wagner hvlp, i have a wagner that i got to play around with to see what it was like but it tends to cough and splutter a bit, maybe i got a dodgy one coz the other member said theres worked fine. I would like to get a different one but they all seem very costly. Last edited by figmentos; 02-09-2007 at 09:29 PM. Reason: add more |

They aren't more precise, just spray a smaller pattern and you have more work getting it even. The Wagner sounds like you need to adjust the spray pattern and turn down the output. Start on the 3rd or 4th notch and adjust the pattern for a tall narrow spray. Hold about 12 inches from whatever you are spraying. Make sure the pickup tube is seated well and there is a notch that the 2 grey pieces of the nozzle tip should line up together before you tighten the retainer ring. If you aren't getting a good pattern, something is loose and it is sucking air somewhere.

This one is so much better in cost in the long term because it uses so little solution to do a full body and only takes like 3 minutes. The color is nicer and it lasts like two weeks. I have not had one complaint yet. |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: Airbrushes Just to clear things up you might need to be 12" away from your client with the wagner but with a HVLP/LVLP system you should be 4-6" away for the best coverage and the least overspray. That should clear it up. |
