Re: Best solution for custom airbrush tanning

gimmick, gimmick, gimmick. it's not your fault GlamaTan, you're just regurgitating what you've been told. let me help you out again.

to have any improvement (and this applies to alot of areas in life) you have to be conditioned. if you go work out at he gym for one day, you don't get thinner or healthier....you have to condition your body to get results. your skin is no different. read any lotion and it will tell you that to achieve desired results you have to apply the product twice a day for X amount of time. no one would try to tell you that moisturizing once a week will help a dry skin condition. so why would you feed your customers this line of you-know-what? when you then also consider the fact that the solution being applied is comprised of nearly 80% water, the actual amount of these "skin firmers" and "vitamins" applied to the skin's surface is not enough to do squat. they aren't being rubbed-in, they are simply "surface mounted" to the outermost layer of the skin.

bottom line is this: the quality of the DHA being used is the most important factor in the resulting color, fading, and subsequent customer satisfaction.

Re: Best solution for custom airbrush tanning

I disagree. By applying solution with less chemicals to begin with and more beneficial ingredients you are giving your skin a head start. Not to mention not breathing all the crap in as well, i can spray in an enclosed room and do 10 spray tans in a row and it doesnt affect me, you certainly cannot do that with many solution on the market.

^Try telling people with sensitive skin, eczema etc that any old solution will do as long as the DHA is good quality, which i understand is also important. But you are wearing that solution on your skin for sometimes as long as up to 24 hrs which is as long as a moisturiser would be left on in between showers, i know that has been long enough for me to already become dry and itchy with alcohol and chemical based solutions.

And yes some companies will put the tiniest amount of a natural ingredient and its not enough for any benefit so may as well not even be in there. For example Liquid Sun has about 3% cehami and it is active at 1 - 2% so is at a level so it actually does do something and it is a cream based solution .

I use natural and organic products alot ( not just solution ) body producs, hair care products and make up and it deffinately does make a difference!! Some ingredients in some solutions are just plain harmful.

The more natural solutions i have tried have been the best, havent left my skin feeling dry and tight within hours of being applied to my skin, this is what gives a good start to a better spray tan .

Then using chemical free after care products also makes a BIG difference.

Re: Best solution for custom airbrush tanning

JA solution is the best we have used.

Norvell gave great color but had constant problems with being sticky and blotchy. We had to touch up about 1 in every 5 people because of it coming out blotchy on the skin. When we changed to JA, we have not had to touch up anyone. The color is more real and even had a customer tell us that if we went back to the old stuff, he would stop coming. This customer never complained and we never had to touch up his spary either, he jsut noticed a difference and liked the JA better.

Do you mean that why is the solution pot on the gun being plastic better than metal. DHA, over time, starts to eat away at the inside of metal pots and can spray metal particles onto clients skin. If you have a metal pot have a look on the inside of the pot and you can see it breaking down, so plastic is better. In my experience anyway :)

Kevin,
I visited your site and found this link with this information on it.

6. Avoid tanning salons and sunlamps
  • These lights emit mostly UVA radiation – up to 2 – 5 times as much as natural sunlight. UVA radiation causes sunburn, premature aging of the skin and skin cancer.
  • The UVB radiation from tanning lights is the main cause of sunburn and skin cancer and also contributes to premature skin aging.
I think all people interested in your free advertising of your products would want to know first hand how your company feels about our tanning salons.

Also you might want to research the facts before you link them to your website.
