UV and Airbrushing in same day?
Hi - I am curious how clients can get airbrushed and get a UV tan in the same visit! I assume that they get the UV tan first and then get srayed cause they wouldn't be able to put lotion on after they are airbrushed, right?? Or do they UV tan after, because their skin is supposed to be free of oils that the lotions may have? Can someone please explain the process to me if a client wants a double-whammy of color from UV and airbrushing and what process I need to follow as far as products and procedure I should expalin to them.
Thanks! |

Re: UV and Airbrushing in same day?
We tell our clients to spray and then have them use the bed for a very short amount of time. <5 minites you don't want to have any oils on b4 you get sprayed and you don't want o put lotions on until after you take a shower. Hope this helps PS you don't want them to sweat either it will make thier spray tan streak.

Re: UV and Airbrushing in same day?
That was my confusion... is it at all benifical for them to tan afterwards then if its only for 5 min? Or is it something you actually reccommend? Just curious of the benifits of a double-dip!
Thanks - |

Not that we can tell. Some people use it to make sure thier clients are dry all the way but if you are using a true HVLP with a turbine correctly, you won't need to.

Re: UV and Airbrushing in same day?
We do what we call a dry and set combo with our 100 watt booth. We spray them, they get in the booth for 5-10 mins. (depending on skintype).
We also do a Sunless/HP combo. sunless always come first in our salon, the the standup, whether it be the 100 watter or the hp booth. Of course the hp booth costs more. Many others do the uv tan first then the sunless. |

I mainly do our Supersonic booth first then do Mystic and we get great results with that combo. Some like to do the reverse to ensure they are thoroughly dry. Supply a robe, it makes it much easier.

Re: UV and Airbrushing in same day?
WE always did sunless airbrush first, then put them in standup for 2-3 minutes afterwards to help them dry. However, if you take the sunless course from smart tan they tell you to tan client first, to open pores and accept spray deeper into pores. Triple dip maybe??? Tan for 5 minutes laydown, spray, tan standup for 2??? Hmmm gonna try that. However, many sunless clients have never tanned indoors either. oh mannn.....

Re: UV and Airbrushing in same day?
The best sunless tan would be to tan in a unit ( NO SWEETING) to open up those pores then do the spray tan.
I use Breeze so there is no need for drying time, however alot of the clients are cold so I have a blow dryer in the spray room . After I am done spraying I have them use the blow dryer while I am cleaning hands , feet and nails. |

Re: UV and Airbrushing in same day?
Aloha to help with the cold client and it has really helped in my salon..After I finish spraying them I remove my spray gun and turn my Airhose up on med/high and its nice warm air I quickly move over the clients body..they love it. and it has is added benefit it does help dry them if need be.
I use HVLP Caltans Custom Bronzer. The compresser is relatively quiet, but it is nice and warm for the clients afterwards..Works great! Food for thought to ponder... |
