Question pregnant and airbrushing

I am pregnant and due may 1st ( I know great just in the middle of busy season ) I was wondering if I wear a mask during spraying what do you think my clients will think if they are not wearing a mask ?
My doctor said if I was doing one a day don't worry about it but if doing multiple wear a painters mask .
Just wanted some thoughts on this . I own and work the salon with no employees so having someone else airbrush is not an option .

Re: pregnant and airbrushing

Look kinda weird if you've been telling them it was harmless.

Re: pregnant and airbrushing

You shouldn't worry about what they think
If they know you are pregnant they should know extra precautions are taken with pregnant women

Re: pregnant and airbrushing

There is a Child relying on you to give him a healthy good start. I just had a baby myself not too long ago. Do you realize that everything you breath goes through your lungs, into your heart, and circulates through your blood and the rest of your body? Obviously, you are already worried...that is your conscience telling you not to do something. As they say....listen to your concience! I have turned away numerous pregnant women that want to be sprayed....dont want the liability and someone to blame me if something bad were to happen to them or their pregnancy. If I were pregnant and spraying....wouldn't wan't to take a chance that could possibly harm a life. You wouldn't be able to live with yourself if something were to turn out wrong. Go to www.fantasytan.com- they have a booth that extracts 99% of overspray....then you won't have to worry about anything.

Good luck with the little one!......It is a blessing from GOD!:)

Oh yeah, before my overspray booth was ready to go....I wore an actual commercial painters mask....customers thought it was a good idea. I explained to each one that I didn't want "tan lungs" because I sprayed so many people per day. They all laughed at my joke and thought it was a great idea. .....offer nose plugs if you are going to wear a mask, it just looks better...most people won't wear them because they don't care about the overspray like pregnant mommies do!

Whether someone is PG or not, whether they are being sprayed or the sprayee (such a word?) they should be wearing nose filters. At .50 @ too cheap to risk not having.

Re: pregnant and airbrushing

Look at the nails salons....the ones I go to they all were masks it doesn't make me think "OHH no I can't breathe" I look at it and say hours of expropsure to this would be rough on your smeller....and your lungs.....
Besides I see pregnant women at the nails salon wearing mask.... If they have an issue with it so be it its not the child...would you rather $$ or health.... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
