Touch up Sunless with HVLP??
I had a client who used Mystic tan and after she processed she has imperfections on the hands: white inbetween fingers and lines white wrist. She was lighter on her shins because she wiped to hard when she was drying off. She wants me to airbrush her the "in betweens and lighter areas...unlike traditional airbrush gun the HVLP has 2 spray patterns...how can i do this correctly and fill in the missed areas if you know what I mean..Aloha you always have great ideas..help.. |

Re: Touch up Sunless with HVLP??
It will be tough to match up and chances are it will look worse on the hand area. You best bet is to just use a small (art style) paint brush and apply some solution in those areas.
Her shin area you can try to spray with your HVLP. Next time have her try an HVLP spray. :) |

Re: Touch up Sunless with HVLP??
You can touch her up with your HVLP, but you will need to make a couple of adjustments first.
1) With the unit off, loosen the casing around the spray nozzle and turn the nozzle to / position. Normally, it is probably at this "l" position, which allows you to spray a horizontal line of product. If you turn it to where it is at a "-" position, it will spray vertically. The "/" position gives you a spot-style spray, which is similar to an airbrush, and will allow you to "draw" with your solution. 2) Turn down the solution flow control knob also, before trying to spray her. This will further your ability to mimic a smaller airbrush. I agree with nmarcks, it is going to be difficult to fix her hands. What I would do is have her apply Vaseline or a thick lotion to the areas where you do not want color, then spray the hands like you normally would. Dry the hands with a hair dryer, then gently blot the Vaseline (or lotion) off. I would also advise the client to wait two hours, then take a minimal amount of lotion and apply it to her hands, just as if she were putting lotion on them normally. This will hopefully continue to blend the hands further, just in case the lotioned areas did in fact, absorb some spray as you were fixing them. Good luck!

First let me say that after spray tanning over 1,000 all my advise is based on the experiences I have had ! Here we go! I have fixed ALOT of Mystic bloopers. In between the fingers I have them ][spread them vewry WIDE s the fake bake looks as real as possible. I buy Sluff Wipes and IMHO no spray Tech should go without them ! WHY , cause they are 1) PH Balanced 2) They have two sides to them one side is extremly "exfoliating" and the other is "softer" . 3) Since they are PH balanced I can spray right away after use !!! (like those whom insist on wearing deoterant, turnes a puky green color!!) NOTE: I also use them at the end of their spray tan session to clean PALMS sides of the feet , TOE NAILS & FINGER NAILS. The air brush way , IMHO there is no comparision to the HVLP way. When it comes to knees & wrinkles I have them bend out their knees , spray that area , ,dry with a blow dryer then lcontinue as usual. Feel free to ask ANYTHING !! Linda |
