Protecting White Hair in Mystic
I would like to try a Mystic tan or two. I've asked around in the salon and no one has any good ideas. The salon is fairly new and they all have dark hair.
I have white hair and white moustache and am not sure how to protect my hair. It appears to me that the hair covering for women would leave a significant "line" aound my hairline. I have no idea how to protect my moustache. When I've used a self-tanning bronzer on my face to even out a UV tan. I have managed to be sloppy enough to get yellowish streaks at the hairline and to turn my eyebrows pretty yellow! I have just put on my flame-retardent underwear, so I'm ready for any advice you can offer. You guys are tough on "outsiders" sometimes. |

Re: Protecting White Hair in Mystic
The Mystic Tan works much different from home self tanners. Most men with short hair don't wear a hairnet when using the mystic tan at my salon. The solution towels off when applied to hair. Use the mystic tan then shower after 4 hours. I would not use anything except for a hairnet making sure it is 1 inch from your hair line and do not cover your ears. Do not use level 3 for your first time. Use level 2 less solution. The Mystic Tan solution does not stain your hair.

Re: Protecting White Hair in Mystic
Mystic solution doesn't attached to hair, but.......I have had some clients say with white or really blonde hair, platinum hair it has a gold or yellow hue...so..I always tell my men if you have hair its prob. best to wear if you have lighter hair, but dark hair ..never a prob. women always wear the cap...Just FYI in our salon

Believe it or not the individuals that we have (mostly men of course) apply a very light barrier cream to the mustache. It seems to work...no complaints..:) I have even had women place barrier cream in those special areas that they don't want tan: bikini area because their hair is lighter..

Re: Protecting White Hair in Mystic
Is there a Mystic "take home" tanner that would blend into my hairline if I put the cap on incorrectly the first time?
The salon people that do Mystic themselves say that it is not hard, but may take about two or three trips to get a really smooth look. I've downloaded the video and the Mystic model makes it look so easy. My plan is to do it on a Friday night and hopefully by Monday, I'll be presentable at work. Thanks for the tips. I may be making this harder than it is. |
