Rep Power: 0 | Adding Spray Tanning........ Well after doing some research we decided to add UV Free Spray Tanning to our business. We got a good deal on a California Tan Bronzer 4000 only used 3 months and used very little during that time period. From the research we did it sounded like this is one of the better units out there. Now I'm in the process of building my own Spray Booth(since everyone wants to charge an arm and leg for one). So fun times for me ahead. :) So here is our question. Does anyone have a checklist of all the items we need to get this up and running. We know the basics like DHA solution and so fourth. We just want to make sure we got everything to start this and aren't stuck ordering something new every week cause we don't have it. Thank you to all. We've learned so much from the website. Thanks Nick and Renee |

So I went with www.spraypanel.com It might be a little expensive 1K but my phylosophy is that my time is worth more then the few hundred dollars I would save trying to build my own. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Adding Spray Tanning........ That is an interesting booth. Kind of along lines of what I was thinking of building. I'm surprise they are using three 20" plus box fans. Seems to me that would be a little overkill. But its a very nice looking system. Boy someone could make some good money out here if they could design something similar to that but keep the price down to around $400 or so. My booth I want to build I'm thinking of adding in two warm air blowing fans that I can turn on after the application to help the drying process. Seems like that would be more professional looking then a using a hair dryer. Hope your new venture turns out good for you. Sounds like your at the same stage we our right now. Do you plan on providing throw away undergarments for your clients or have your clients wear some basic cotton undergarments to there session? Nick and Renee |

A patent is a right, granted by the United States to an inventor, to exclude others from making, using, selling or importing an invention throughout the United States without the inventor's consent. The inventor may license or sell the rights defined by the Claims of the patent. There are currently over 6 million United States patents issued to inventors. Without a patent, anyone can make and sell your invention without your permission and without paying you. There are two types of patents issued by the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) - utility and design. A utility patent protects the function of an invention. Utility patents are granted for any new, useful and non-obvious process, machine, manufactured article, composition of matter, or any new and useful improvements to any of these types of inventions. The term of a utility patent is 20 years from the date of filing. Utility patents are usually more desirable than design patents. We have a chart that illustrates the Typical Utility Patent Application Process. A design patent protects the overall appearance of an invention and is granted for any new, original and ornamental design for an article of manufacture. The term of a design patent is 14 years from the date of issuance. A design patent should only be chosen if the appearance of the invention is important, otherwise utility patent protection should be sought. SHOULD YOU PATENT? Before seeking patent protection, you should first determine whether your invention is potentially marketable. If your invention is not marketable you do not need patent protection. When determining whether your invention is marketable, you should determine if another company would be able to profit from your invention not only today, but also in the future. If so, patent protection should be sought so that the company would have to license the invention from you. WHAT IS NOT PATENTABLE An inventor cannot receive a patent for perpetual motion devices, abstract ideas, laws of nature, or naturally occurring substances. An inventor cannot receive a United States patent for an invention publicly disclosed more than 12 months ago. Public disclosure includes any sale, exhibit at trade show, or printed in a publication, with a few exceptions. You should seek a Patent Attorney's opinion if you have any questions whether your invention is patentable. It should also be noted that you do not need a prototype when seeking patent protection - you only need to be able to describe the invention in sufficient detail so that one skilled in the art could construct your invention. BENEFITS OF PATENTING Patenting your invention also allows you to prevent others from making, using or selling your invention throughout the United States without your consent. A patent is also one of the few assets that can increase in value over time. A patent also increases the value of your business because it is considered a valuable asset by banks and potential purchasers of your business. There are many ways to financially benefit from a patent. Your patent may be sold outright to another for monetary remuneration. You may also license your patent to one or more parties for a percentage of the sale price. You may also be the exclusive manufacturer of your invention. Whether you are a business or an independent inventor, a patent is a valuable asset and is needed to protect you from unscrupulous individuals who could benefit from your hard work. If you can't or just plain don't want the Big Blue Box ( http://mystictan.com/ because of their greedy business practices/personal reasons/orjust'causeyouthinktheysuck) here is an alternative spray booth I have heard very good things about from several different sources. http://cabanamist.com/index.php

Rep Power: 24 | Re: Adding Spray Tanning........ Thank You... The kit contains a 2 0z bottle of spray Self Tanner for touch ups or the face, 2.5 oz bottle of Primer ( exfoliator ) 2.5 oz bottle of Extender ( Moistuizer w/bronzer) and 2 0z bottle of Nuteralizer (some people smell bad the next day & the higher contentent of DHA can be smelly). I do HVLP so I take appoinments only so I have them come in prior to the session & purchase the kit so that they can get the instructions & exfoliate prior to the session. |

Rep Power: 24 | Re: Adding Spray Tanning........ The over spray is nasty you will want the reduction fans. I have the Turbobronzer 3000 been spraying for about 2 years. CalTan sent Claudia out to =show us how its done now I do it my way as you will . Watched the video at home about 100 times..lol Then I put card board on the wall & sprayed with water. Then I took about 15 of my best costumers that knew alot of people & started spraying them for free untill I felt ready to charge. Sprayed about 1,000 now...gotten pretty darn good & they all come back, no advertising just repeat referral business. Now I am getting ready to start a mobile Sunless service for wedding parties only !! |
