I have been HVLP airbrushing for 10months now:approx. 500 clients. Lots of practice etc..I still have challenges with some clients with dark feet and wrist lines.
I have done the following: any suggestions please help: 1. I apply barrier cream for my clients. Depending on clients skin: I apply 1-2 layers evenly and covered. 2. I use the Maximizer by cal tan and primer towelettes to even out PH for obvisous reasons and assure proper exfoliation. 3. I feather technique with air gun. and release at the wrist on second pass. 4. I wipe palms, finger nails and around edge of wrist with hand sanitizer and then remove access with a damp towel. after the spray.(Palms of hands/nails not a prob.) I have client hold wrist at different angles based on size of wrist size if nec.) 5. Feet I do barrier cream as described above also. I do it. Then I use feather tech. also on all passes. On the second pass I cover feet/toes with a towel/or paper linen (I got this tip from Aloha, I think. works great for most clients) 6. After spray I wipe toe nails, heels, and bottom of feet with a damp towel and lightly blot top of foot with a dry towel to absorb any access.. 7. I have even tried spraying those mention areas more than 8-12 in away to attempt to lessen amount of spray on those areas. Generally most of my clients seem to do pretty good. I know you can't please everyone but I'm a perfectionist and I want to fix it...I know I can't control what clients do at home, but I feel YOU guys probably have more experience tips I can use and poss. eliminate maybe something I'm doing??? HELP!! FYI...alot of times the client is heavier, but not always... |

Re: Tips for Perfection
Some good points in there. Nothing I can really help you on since you've been doing it longer then we have.
Anybody have any good tips on spraying heavier set clients??? They always seem to be the hardest, especially if they have some rolls and very big breast. |

Re: Tips for Perfection
I sprayed a lady approx. 300lb and it a very tough subject to try to get all the hidden spots if you know what I mean. Most of the client I have sprayed are self conscious, but they want it all sprayed..So.. For the legs I just have them stand with their legs as far as they can and spray as much as I can and explain that everyones body is different and every area may react a little different in spots. Such as areas of the body will touch differently and may wear alittle different. lighter or darker and explain to them a light extender may be good for them as touch ups. For abd area I have client raise their arms and have them twist side to side and while I"m spraying go over again the issues above. With breasts I have them lean over and raise their arms if they can. (I have clients standing on a platform therefore with me under them it does work believe or not. but I still tell them with the breast touching skin on skin there may be more wearing in that area) with the back folds: I have client turn on my platform and I have a long metal bar that they can hold onto and I have them to the "hunchback of notredam" stance.. It does help roll out the rolls believe or not..It helps. Then I have them do the side stance and rise their arms and I feather between areas..
I found by talking to them while I'm spraying about areas and how to address them after the spray really relaxes them and they do not get offended. One thing before I start to spray with larger clients I go over body types and wear with sunless in a professional way. Because you know they want to ask, but are afraid to. Also after I spray I will blot areas to assure coverage and then offer extender lotions or Breeze spray in a can..If you have any other tips I am very appreciative |
