Re: Help with Spray onvs Airbrushing
Wow Ramcat I wish I could control my clients as well as you do..I want your secret..Even though Mystic booth is only 45 sec and with the most experienced booth users you are correct mine can get in and out in 5 min also...however do you not have new users who are larger, older like 70ish or just do not get the "whole" sunless dance etc...If you don't how did you weed those out? People are people and do things differently and learn differently..I'm not just saying Mystic or Magic tan..I mean just people in general..some people are just plan o'l stupid...no matter how long you show them the video or have a staff member demo this to them...We have both as I stated above and really I can't see much different...IMO...then just given clients more choices and options...biz decision I guess..and you are right "Perv can go to the strip joint or porn sites to get their thrill...but guess what those people are people too and they just don't get it!

Re: Help with Spray onvs Airbrushing
That's one of the issues. Your customers have to do the "sunless Dance". Mine don't. New customers get a video to watch (3 minutes) then I go over the essentials (1 minute) then in they go. By the time they get undressed, get in and out of the booth and redressed, the first visit is maybe 7-10 minutes. After that it is only the time it takes to get undressed redressed and the 10 seconds in the booth. I just give them 5 minutes total so that they don't feel rushed.

Re: Help with Spray on vs Airbrushing
How did you ever get your clients to get sprayed? My experience has been if someone EVER has a bad experience with ANY kind of spray they will not venture into that area again. What's your secret?

Re: Help with Spray onvs Airbrushing
Bravotan, I have the Celebrity Tan Booth. No dancing, just 10 seconds in the booth.
Billable, you can find a lot of different views about this, but basically the spray (as a mist) covers the entire body. Some methods are considered to be electromagnet and others are just because the solution is in a mist and flows withing the entiore booth. As a sugar based chemical, DHA sticks to everything and everywhere. Pop a coke sometime after shaking the can. It's amazing where you'll find the droplets. Finally, every manufacturer want syou to spread the solution in some manner. Some want you to towel off, others want you to "buff" with a pair of gloves. In either case, you are rubbing the solution all over the body. Some just wetter than others.

Re: Help with Spray on vs Airbrushing
In the booths that soak you down, they hand you a towel to dry off. This also distributes the lotion. If you're lucky, you'll cover the whole body without too much streaking. In the booths that only mist you (you come out almost dry), you should be handed a pair of plastic gloves so you can smooth over tose wrinkled areas. Because everyone is different, you should have been told to rub all over your body. This blends in the solution evenly over the entire body.

Re: Help with Spray on vs Airbrushing
Ramcat with the Celebrity Tan procedure (I have never used this booth) i take by your comment you are somewhat dry. If client places gloves on their hands after service..gloves usually (latex gloves i'm assuming your talking about) usually are difficult to get on and wouldn't this disturb the hands where they might get streaky..what if the person hands start to sweat? I know we preach with our sunless services not to disturb the service..meaning don't wash hands, no sweating or rubbing the skin..Is your service different?

Re: Help with Spray on vs Airbrushing
I didn't need to rub anything. Turned out great! No streaks, very nice. I would not go to a booth that required me to wipe or rub. Its was as close to airbrushing as I think is possible.
