Re: Fantasy tan anyone?

I use a HVLP (high volume low pressure) - better results than an airbrush, less mess and much faster and i purchased it from Vani-T. I also use their solution Liquid Sun. You can buy similar machines from many tanning companies - mine looks like a little piggy with four little legs and a plastic - not metal gun.

I used to use Sun FX and then Glammatan (hence the name : ) ) have also tried many incl Tantrick, Fantasy Tan, Sol, Bonza Bronz, Tanline, St Tropez, Magic Tan, Naturasun, Su-do, Mancine, Tuscan Tan, Endless Sun, Norvell, Ophira, sunspa and more that i cant think of right now and Vani-T is way ahead of all of them.

I guess its just a matter of trying them all out for yourself and find some willing guinea pigs and test on yourself also till you find the right one for you

I'm very happy with my Accuspray turbine! But right now I'm trying to find the right solution to use.
First I've tried Norvell, looks great, fades fast.
Then I've tried Breeze, looks great, fading blotchy.
I must say that I prefer the color of Breeze over Norvell and so do my customers. But I'm a bit worried about it fading blotchy. Any ideas on that?

Have you tried All About Me? I use to use Norvell but switched.

Is there a website for all about me?

knowledgeable except for the fact that everything she's saying is false. fantasy tan solution is water based, not alcohol. because of the ingredients the overspray is much worse? overspray is due to the equipment being used, not the solution. you did research on the ingredients? so you read that DHA is classified as an irritant. this is common knowledge. DHA is not unique to Fantasy Tan solutions, that's what every uses.

unfortunately, this seems to be another case of someone passing on bad information.....

Re: Fantasy tan anyone?

Um i didnt actually say that Fantasy Tan was alcohol based but its certainly in there. Its certainly not natural based. I am refering to its other ingredients, not water which is the main one...

I know my stuff so theres no need to have a go.

Equipment and application method yes has alot to do with overspray but
alcohol makes the solution go much more airborne, thus more mess, that is a fact also giving you less sprays per litre.

Not to mention the smell...

Do you sell/ work for Fantasy Tan? Just asking as you are very defensive. Just beacuse you know about one product doesnt mean you know them all and Australia is way ahead of overseas products, i have done my research.

If DHA is a skin irritant (yes it it is known to be quite drying on the skin) then why put a whole lot of nasties and other irritants in with it? The plant extracts, essential oils etc are there to help combat this.

Re: Fantasy tan anyone?

GlamaTan I agree with YOU 100% on Fantasy Tan on ingred, but I was told by Fantasy Tan Rep that their solution DOESN'T work with our HVLP gun? I tried a bit of their formulas and the rep told me it would not perform well with my gun because it is made for traditional airbrush guns, but at least I could experience the color, smell and get a feel for their products. He even made me call him before I sprayed to give me directions on how to spray with my gun on the flow knob settings. I didn't like it either...

I have tried a lot of products of the years also and I have never tried the product you mention..I would luv to know more. I'm really into plant extracts and holistics and it has been very difficult to find products with "GOOD" juice!

I currently use Breeze formulas and I really luv the performance it delivers and I luv the availability to customize for colorization services. I have some with custom scent and some not, but I have never had challenges with BLOTCHY or fade issues as was noted above. The only issue I have with some clients I can't get them dark enough...but I think that is with any product I would guess

I think all sunless services and juices depends alot on technique, prep from client (home products the clients use prior to getting the service. and after care instructions.

Some specialist/artist here in our town just spray and go with their clients and they wonder why their clients are blotchy or orange or it fades uneven..
I teach here and YOU must not use bar soaps, (rises the PH level causes orange blotch tints), assisting bodywash only, use moisturizers x2 daily but all body product should not contain mineral oil petroleum/petrolatum, oily substances, synthetics, methy. propyl, butyl and ethyl parabens, DEA, laureth sulfate/sodium lauryl/propylene glycol, stearalkonium chloride, or synthetic fragrances ..just to name a few ingred.. THese ingred. can effect sunless applications.

But I would luv to hear more about your product, because I have to agree US is behind the curve when it comes to medicine and natural/organic ingredients..

Please do share..
thanks

work for them, no. work with them, yes. i've been doing mobile tanning for years now and the Air Caddy is perfect for this type of service. it has both an airbrush and HTAS spraygun for both detail and bulk work. i just get defensive because this site seems to have it out for Fantasy Tan and that could reflect in my business. i'm all for open discussions, but when people say things that just aren't true e.g., fantasy tan solution contains alcohol, it bothers me because at that point the facts don't really seem to matter. i've tried every solution under the sun as well, i think we all have, at the end of the day i think we can all agree ~ it's a matter of personal preference.

Goldengirl69 this is sooooooooooo true..What works with your specific area and guest is all that really matters! What works for you that is really what is important!

I use to use CAltan and I know on this site I hear alot of people just luv it...I thought it gave pretty good color for some of my clients, but the STICKY juice turned my guest off this process so I had to have other choices...

I tried all different techniques and the end results were the same..so..I think experiment and find the "BEST" solution for your guest...$$ do not lie and repeat biz doesn't lie either..
Best Regards,

Re: Fantasy tan anyone?

Glamatan......water being the first ingredient means it is natural based! Uggggg! Enough bashing Fantasy Tan......we all know it really is the best product out there, people are against it because it is spendy and they don't want to fork out the dough for an excellent product.....your loss, our gain as we will get your business after they are sick of smelling like patoulie oil.
