Re: Sunless Airbrush Systems

I took these pictures for you. I built this room myself. I have the HVLP unit on the other side of the wall so it is not as noisy. There is more than enough hose to walk around the customer. You can't tell, but I have a paper mat taped down to the platform to make cleanup a little easier, but mainly to keep their feet from soaking up the overspray off of the platform. Under the paper is a drain that looks like a bathroom sink drain. (Chrome drain like you see in the bottom of your sink.) Several things I would do differently, but a few are: I should have run the power cord through the wall under the platform. I left it out so I could unplug it if there were a problem, but don't think that is necessary. I should have made the platform removable. I attached it permanently and sealed it, so there wouldn't be anything run down between it and the wall. I should have used a gasket material and screws rather than caulking it in. The caulk is discolored from the spray. Maybe you can improve on mine.

if you going to be spraying alot of people back to back then I would go with the T700 which has the turbine motor , the one your looking at has a compressor.

I second that. Stick with turbine for salon uses. The mini-mist isn't bad but I'm not sure how well it would hold up after hours of use each day.

i like your idea. what covers the top of the booth? Is there a fan for the overspray to protect it from getting on the ceiling?

The room i would be working in has vaulted cielings but they are not completely closed. i am concerened with overspray getting into the other tanning rooms. (There is a gap between the wall and the cieling..)

Re: Sunless Airbrush Systems

Our room is a about 8x0=10 also.. We put granite on the floor for easy cleaning. The only thing it is a little slick at times, but i use a towel at their feet area. My hubby built out our room with a exhaust box fan built into a wall. I use an aerobic wide stepper. Really works great for cleaning. I can move it out and clean. If you would like pics let me know I can try to get you some. I have a roll cart in the room also with supplies, the turbine machine sits nicesly. I have a large long bar across the wall for clients to hold onto. 1 long full lenght mirror. My overspray is minimal, but my area is easy to clean.. I use 2 towels for stepper/one for floor. Sunless is always messy, but the ease of cleaning between clients..our method is pretty efficient..Great pics. billable.

please post pics or send them to me my email in internationaltan@yahoo.com

thanks! any input is needed for me! i am having a hard time determining how to protect the top of my room from overspray. The wall does not reach the cieling so i need some suggestions on how to keep the overspray from reaching the other rooms.

Easiest way to cover your ceiling (I take its kind of open at the top and if you wanted to you could throw a penny over the wall into the next room) is to cover it with some thicker black or any color fabric and staple it down on the top of the wall. You should have no problem pulling it tight and making it look perfect. I guess the only problem with that maybe where your lights are in the room. If there high above the top of the wall this won't work. If they are about level or close to the top of the wall you could easily make a small frame around the light and run the fabric up to that. Only other thing is to actually put a suspended ceiling into the room. Keep in mind with HVLP the spray tends to drop then rise.
