Re: Airbrushing with Breeze?
I agree whatever works best for the artist is fine, but again this is ONLY my opinion: I feel that clients skin absorbs differently from the next. I want to offer options and I don't want to stand 4, 6,8, 12 inches away depending on flow knob and situation spraying..AGAIN this is only my opinon and experience.
I feel if client A: comes in and is a very light, skin type 1, red head , freakles etc..you get the pic. I want to use my formula for that skin type: which is Breeze #5. I will chart on that clients profile what formula was used. NOw the client processes and returns for her next spray, this way I will not have to remember ..how many inches I sprayed away or what level I turned down the flow knob or I stood x amount of inches away from the guest.. I will be able to judge more efficently for the guest (ONLY IN MY OPINION) with formulas that are % savvy based on research for a base line of clients skin type. So the next time the client does return and she says..WOW the color was great, dont change a thing..I mix accordingly or if she says..it was to light can we boost a bit..I have the formula guide for that.. I guess I want more of a science to it then a guess...NOW I'm not saying those who use the flow knob or spaying tech isn't science..I'm just to old to remember how many inches or situations I sprayed to that body with that particular spray and how to chart to do so would be extremely difficult I would think.. So easier and less I have to think about it for the continous spraying is the best for me and mine guest. Really clients like the different %...the feel it is more costumized based on their individual situations, skin type and needs..more colorization techn if you will.. I think everyone has their own way and know his or her clients and that is WHAT is important. This is just IMO on how we do things and it works great here and our guest love the very individual colorization tech. |

Re: Airbrushing with Breeze?
Cali when I use Breeze 10.5 on my lighter clients they don't seen to do as well..I wonder why? I do use HVLP system . Do you think that matters? I was taught to always spray flow knob full turn, I pretty fast so I do spray quickly, and I have the gun approx. 8' away. I wonder why % does matter. do you think its the solution type?
Just asking. |

Re: Airbrushing with Breeze?
Here is what I do know. All DHA's are not make the same. You can get junk from China or you can get premium stuff, somewhere. My solution produces a brown, (not red), bronze color, REGUARDLESS of the client. Some clients can naturally take more solution because of their natural color. I do all clients twice over and acording to how I eyeball their original color is how much they get sprayed. If they are more fair, they still come out brown. If they are darker, they come out browner. I go light on my ladies that want light, I go dark on my ladies who love more color. No complaints, either way. I really dont know. I have MY ideas why a company would want to sell you 5 jugs of solution but thats my theory. I just know that to ME, 1% difference in solution is not going to be enough for me to buy another gallon when what works for me is all a 10%. I do have booster drops and I do add them sometimes, however, I never take away, and have never needed to.

Re: Airbrushing with Breeze?
As for the gun spraying different, thats not what I mean. My actual GUN is set to the "default" amount of spray that comes out. My compressor is set on 30-35 psi. I ajust acording to the client and the actual amount I put ON them.

Re: Airbrushing with Breeze?
Wow..I wish I could use only 1 solution. You are so right about carrying 50 million different jugs of juice.!! I hate that part...I take it by the way you explain procedure you are using traditional airbrush. Correct?
Iuse HVLP not sure if that would make a difference or not in the viscosity of solution. but it is my under it really makes a difference in the juice?? I have only been in the salon biz for 15 yrs and doing sunless for 5 and I learn new stuff everyday. You have been great..! THanks for the info.. I'm going to experiment even more.. |

Re: Airbrushing with Breeze?
I also use a 10% solution on everyone. Fair skinned people, I start off with 2 light coats. When they come back I ask them if they want to be darker. If they do want to be darker I give them 1 medium coat and 1 light coat. Next time, if they want to be darket than before I do 2 medium coats. The difference in total solution is minimal but the difference in darkness is noticable. Medium toned clients, I ask them how dark they want to be. If the say the want noticeable color but don't want to be too dark ( which is what most of them say ), I do one medium coat and one light coat. When they come back in I ask if they want to be darker than they were the first time. If they say yes, I do 2 medium coats. For medium to darker complexions that want to be dark, I have a 11.25% solution from the same manufacturer. I usually use 2 medium coats. Usually a full 2 - 3 ounces of solution.
I use a hvlp. Also, the solution is 95% natural. Before this solution, I was using a solution that contained alcohol and it was drying mine and my clients skin. My calves looked like alligator skin they were so dry. I get sprayed every 10 days or so and my skin is not dry at all. Color is a nice golden color...not orange.... even on fair skinned red heads. Love it!! |

Re: Airbrushing with Breeze?
You CAN offer one solution, find ONE that you like. If you have been spraying for 5 years you have the knowledge to do it. Im serious... it seems to me like if someone MARKETS a product to you that way to sell you more and then tells you to MARKET to your customers that way... its about the MARKETING, not the actual solution.
