I'm posting in this forum since it is for SUNLESS TANNING! I have gotten some "not so good" reviews on Heartland's Sun Spritz...is it really that bad?? Do I just forget the "DEAL" that I've got going on now and look into Mystic Tan? Everyone seems to agree that this is the best option. Our rep. that works on our Ultrabronz beds and who also deals with a bunch of other salons has told me that Sun Spritz is the way to go...now I'm hearing otherwise. This really gets confusing!!! HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!! !!!!!

Who works on your UltraBronz? Just curious, because we have one (UB818) and the cousin to the sunspritz (Miracle Mist). I think all sunless have some sort of issues, regardless of manufacturer and type. Same as my beds. If it's not a timer, its acrylics, or pistons, or yada yada yada...

NO - NOT all equipment is "basically the same". While EVERY piece of equipment CAN have issues, there are people with years of experience ahead of you who can tell you the ones that are "most likely" to be bad - or good.

Sun Spritz has a long history of problems. Sure, you can find one, or maybe even 6 or more salons out there who say "it's great" or "it's not that bad". Just like you can find salon owners who justify their equipment purchases with "sure, the acrylic gets so hot that tanners complain, but if you CAN stand the heat you can get a heck of a tan" or "yea, it didn't hold up after year two and I couldn't get any money out of it on the resale market, but it was cheap and it looked nice".

You don't have to "settle". There is good quality equipment, provided by good quality dealers. Ask, resarch and listen.

Ultimately, tanners are looking for results. If your salon equipment can't deliver, it doesn't matter how nice you are, how clean it us, how little you charge. The results HAVE to be the best.

If you are a really smart cookie, don't settle for anything just because you heard it here or on any other forum. Look into the good, the bad and even the ugly of each manufacturer.

You'll be amazed on what you'll find. Many a booth has fallen by the wayside because of issues in the maintenance or quality in it's manufacture.

The final decision rests with you and you have to decide which piece of equipment meets your needs both financially and in its operation.

Ramcat and Sally both nailed it. If you're looking for a booth with no problems, you want to pass on the spritz. It might not be as horrible as you've heard, since they have been making design changes. However, it's not commercial grade yet in my humble opinion. It's still the "Windows 95" of the booths out there. If you want the commercial grade that's going to (almost) always be there to make you $$$$, I'd suggest you keep looking.

Mystic is a standard favorite. I liked the design and construction of the new CalTan booth (not really a booth, since it's open), but it's pricey and I am skeptical of any new equipment until it has a track record out in salons.

JohnnyComeLately...A guy out of Louisiana works on our Ultra's. We have an 818 that was down the entire busy season b/c u/bronze does not have the control panel we need...I AM SOOOO FRUSTRATED!! I am still waiting for that part! How does your Miracle Mist work? I have been in touch with Mystic today and am thinking I should go that route. They have a new system coming out in August/Sept, the MyMist...it was released at the Vegas show...did you see it (I didn't go)? The rep recommended that I wait and get that one but I'm like you...I'd rather know it's track record?!?! This is so mind boggling!#*#&@@!!!

MyMyst isn't THAT much cheaper and the individual canister spray makes the solution cost go up as much as 75 cents/tan -- which is significant, especially as prices on sunless drop. If you like Mystic (and I do too), I'd go with the Traditional booth (not the 35K innovation and not the 20K Mymyst).

For your part - did you contact Ultrabronze directly? To be backordered more than 3 months seems ridiculous.

Also - try Heartland. They bought/folded in "Tan Systems - The Parts Warehouse" which had one of the best parts inventories in the country. Jeff Valaska ran it for years and knows most equipment out there backwards and forwards. He/they may be able to help.

Every spray booth relys on the mentality of the user. Show them the little video and give them the flyer, but it is most likely that their first session or two will not go so well.

This is why a hand-held unit may provide better intial results.
